I bought 2 of these to try and just bought 2 more. AWESOME RESULTS.

- Using these with Canon 5dmk2 and Canon T2i (all off camera, wireless)
- i'd rather spend money on lenses and you know, the more important stuff.
- Remember, all flashes are the same IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THEM
- these are manual, so if your a natural lazy piece of *#@@, then you will feel cheated with these.
- high learning curve, but once you do learn, these things are AWESOME!!!

I'll cut to the chase. Get this flash. It is just fine on a Pentax K-x. The voltage is only 4.4V so it's not going to fry anything.

The ability to adjust the flash output is a plus. You can feather just how much fill in you get from the flash to make a perfect picture. I initially purchased a TTL vivitar flash when I bought my camera, but the flash came with absolutely no information on how to use it with a pentax camera, and I've never gotten consistent results with it. But with my 285, I get rock solid results.

The batteries are great and hold their charge for a long time. The charger refuses to ever show a green light for full charge, but I guess after the batteries have sat over night they are at full charge. Disappointing that it won't show a green light (I've left it for two days and still had a red light) but the batteries more than make up for that. And it says 4 aa batteries. I got 8. Maybe I'm just lucky... But it's nice to have the spares!!!

So don't delay, get this now!

I read in one of the reviews that the PC connector is kind of tight. So when I tried to detach the PC Sync cord that came with the flash, it tore off the socket on my Sony Alpha700. Since I'm already using remote and off camera hot shoe. It's really small matter.

Only took a few shots with the unit. Definitely have enough power for what I need.
Am kind of bummed out about the socket on my Sony. Oh well should've take the hint from the review.
So 4 Stars for the product.

But 5 Stars for the dealer. Free Rechargeable Batteries. What a great deal.

Great bang for the buck! Make sure to study online and find out how to use properly and you will LOVE it :D

The vendor si a 5 star, no problem with any transactions, I been using these flash for a wile, I brought 6 units in a diferent times and allways are prompty and well done the orders, I hardly recomend it to all of you!.

I bought a Vivitar 285HV Auto Professional Flash + " FREE " 4 AA 2700mah Rechargeable Batteries and Charger. Everything was good except for two things:

One of the batteries did not receive charge. And it took more than 30 hours to see the lights turning off indicating the full charge of the other three batteries. It seems to me an excesive time.

Im not pleased with this purchase.
