1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of this camera., April 21, 2004
This review is from: Vivitar ViviCam 3735 3.3 MP Digital Camera (Electronics)
I got one of these from the local store. I noticed some noise while operating the zoom. It turned out I got focus problem and got bad pictures. So I promptly returned and I got another one. This one was less noise than the old one. Pictures came out good. I tried zoom/no zoom indoor and outdoor everything looked all right to my naked eye. My happiness didn't last until I started comparing the images (same location, light and only few seconds apart between snaps) with another Kodak camera. It looks like Vivtar took all my purple colors in Blue. The color capture in this camera is pathetic. The problem hasn't end there. I got a 256 MB compact flash card. I inserted card. It worked fine for a day and from second day onwards if I had the CF in the camera, I couldn't even switch on the camera. I checked my CF, it was ok with another camera. Also if you have additional memory added then the internal memory is not recognized. Overall stay away from this camera. I gave one star caz, I can't give zero.

1.0 out of 5 stars A basic throw away digital camera, December 25, 2004
This review is from: Vivitar ViviCam 3735 3.3 MP Digital Camera (Electronics)
My father bought 3 of these cameras in April 2004 and only one works periodically. They eat batteries as do all digital cameras so make sure you have plenty on hand if you don't buy rechargable batteries. The cameras all worked so awesome for the first few months. I used mine the most and it was the first to die. The pictures start coming out blurry and then sometimes the camera would turn on and then shut off or would not come on at all. I lost the screen on the top first and then the lcd screen went wacky. I have pictures of my newborn stuck in the camera and am unable to retrieve them. If you want to spend $100.00-$189.00 on a throw away digital camera then this one is for you!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Update review....do not deal with this company (Vivitar), July 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Vivitar ViviCam 3735 3.3 MP Digital Camera (Electronics)
Boy what a turnaround from my prev posting...The camera stopped working intermittantly...will not focus no how and take a picture...flash goes off..but nothing in the LCD or memory as a picture being taken. Turn it on and off a bunch of times and it will work....then next time you use the camera..it may or may not work until you turn it on and off again a bunch of times..and the battery signal meter is useless..it will show full strength and all of a sudden camera goes dead...needs more batteries. and the worst part of all is Vivitars customer service..or lack of..I called them 4 times...and its not a toll free #..and after 4 weeks..still no response..and I challenge anyone to find a way to email that co from their website..try it. after wasting an hour on it it tells you to sign up for this cumbersome EBOX system where someone will get back to you...same thing..after 4 weeks..no message from anyone..and they had the nerve to send me an automated email today saying my request was closed... CLOSED?? I never even got a response...trust me..stay away from this company..if you get lucky and get an ok camera..good for you..but pray you have no problems wiht it or you will experience their lack of customer service.
