This album shows the high quality of Chichi Peralta and his magnificent band Son Familia live in action. Great musicianship, marvelous arrangements and what energy. I can't wait for the opportunity to personally see and hear this band in concert. After hearing this album I am more convinced of the excellent musical talent of this native Dominican artist. This is by far the best album Chichi has produced so far.

Chichi Peralta delivers a live concert album that's rare and magical in several ways. First, the live setting allows the artist to embellish his sound and lyrics while entertaining an appreciative Dominican audience in a way that makes each song sound fresher than ever. Second, like any truly superior live recording, the crowd contributes a sense of "connection" with the artist that is usually reserved for a Bruce Springsteen concert. You can almost see the audience on its feet, sharing an intimacy, a genuine musical moment, that we can all relate to but which is often lacking in concert productions. As a document of an incredible singer-songwriter at his glorious best, "En Vivo" is a major success! It's clear Peralta is fulfilling a life-long dream; he's exuberant throughout, and his classic song "Amor Narcotico" becomes a metaphor for music as the universal drug of choice...the listener not only feels like they are part of the show, but also realizes they're experiencing each track in new, unexpected ways. Adding to the disc's pleasures are superb production values throughout, and Peralta's sweet, affecting vocals -- especially on tracks like "Amor Narcotico" (when the crowd goes absolutely wild), "Sol de Verano" and "Me Enamore." The artist is relaxed and confident - he tosses off ad-libbed lines to show his appreciation for the fans at just the right moment, adding to the listener's sense of being present and experiencing a singular moment in time. On a great sound system, "En Vivo" becomes the next best thing to being in the audience, which for this listener at least, is a testament not just to Peralta, but also the superb musicians, arrangers and songwriters assembled here.

Part Juan Luis Guerra, part Beny More, part PT Barnum, yet completely original in his own right, Chichi Peralta has created a unique sound that transcends categorization. "Ev Vivo" is a great introduction to the artist's top hits and his inimitable sound. So - if you enjoy classic Caribbean sounds - salsa, merengue, afro-Cuban, son, bachata - this album is a MUST OWN. Sopla Chichi!!!

I bought this CD with hopes that the new lead singers would do a decent job with the songs from the previous album "pa' otro lao". Jandy Feliz had a unique voice and this new vocalists can not match Jandy's range. The songs are great, the recording is pretty good for a live album, but the singers are not up to the standards of Jandy. One of them sounds more like a woman trying to sing a ballad in a merengue song. This just doesn't work.

En ViVo ChiChi Peralta, WOW I am very amazed by his music, this cd proves it all. The Music is top quality and the songs are fenomenal, this cd is a must buy for all of the people outthere.
It was recored last September 2000 on the city of Santo Domingo and it is the best tropical cd of the year, and I'll guarantee you that Chichi will recieve another grammy for this work.

So , if you are still having doubts about it, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, you need to buy this cd before they run of copies. So Don't think it twice, this cd is a MUST for all of the people outhere who enjoy good quality music like Chichi always gives us.
