The tablet on the keyboard is VERY steady, no sway or rocking like my wife's ipad keyboard. This feels like a little laptop when plugged in this way. When you close the device you have a very nice little clamshell to protect the screen.
I like the keyboard for the extra battery, and it can function as a stand for the screen if you want to watch a movie without holding the tablet in your hand. I also have a flip case that can function as a stand, so that was not such a big deal to me. My case will not work with the keyboard though, I have to take it off to plug it in. Disconnecting the screen is not too bad once you have figured it out, there is a little switch on the side to unlock the base.
I like the fact you can also leave the keyboard plugged in and doc your tablet screen at night rather than fumbling around for the bottom port. The charger makes more sense with the side mount on the keyboard. And now I can see why they did the bottom of the tablet connector (it is how the tablet connects to the keyboard).
I wish the base had come with an SD slot (it doesn't), and I also wish they had included two USB ports. Neither is a MUST have, but it sure would be nice.
One problem I have is that the tablet battery is used before the keyboard battery! So if you use it for a long while, and then undock to take the tablet your battery is already down, while the keyboard is at 100%. (The machine looks like it has TWO batteries from the desktop battery widget).Read more ›
tablet, and was able to plug into my 810, and it works!!! gained a keyboard, extra battery, a mouse, and
a real USB 2.0 port. so overall happy.. I don't like that when you search for a docking port for the 810 this one
shows up, without damaging (cutting off the tab),, it does not connect to a 810 model. but, I am happy now
that I got it to works.
My complaint to ASUS, is BRING BACK THE 810 DOCKING STATION!!!! these docking stations turn what is a toy
until a real machine, and still have the convenience of the tablet when mobile. but frankly, when you are home
having the keyboard is almost priceless!

This little keyboard works well. The keys are not as reactive as I would like from a keyboard, but for a tablet keyboard, it serves its purpose. Read morePublished 2 months ago by ken Farris
