This was a no brainer, first because of the price $299 w/ full windows 8! And for the size.

Pros: Great display, sleek design, love the sylus and ability to doodle, etc. Very light, good memory and HD size, very speedy, touch screen is very accurate, solidly built. I could go on...
Con: Agree w/ other reviews that it takes a sec for the pad to load a program or feature, but once it's up, lightening fast. This is not an issue or me at all. Plenty of other pros that far outweight this little nit-picky thing.

I purchased the optional keyboard dock at a local MicroCenter (in store only). Check their website. Was alittle pricy at $199 but worth it.

This is a VERY well built machine. My wife has an iPad 2 and this is every bit as good a quality as an apple product, w/ the productivity of windows 8.

I'm a very nipicky consumer and i researched tablets for several weeks. I'm rarely 5 stars on anything, enough said.

As a side note: The poor reviews given for this machine simply because the customer can't find the docking station anywhere should be removed. The reviews should focus on the product purchased...you're decieving the public by giving it a 1 star rating because the availability of a peripheral. Would you give a refigerator a bad review if you dont have any electricity in your house?

I do not usually write reviews, but this time I feel compelled to do it so that I can save some aggravation to somebody.

As soon as I received the device I went through the process of registering it and login into my hotmail account. No problem in doing this.

Next step was to do the updates to Windows 8 recommended buy the Microsoft update utility. Here is where the problems started.

It took a long time to download the update (about 500Mb) and also a long time to install them. The installation failed and I got a message on the screen saying that it was reverting the changes. After twelve or so hours at this stage, the tablet was still stuck on that message.

I contacted Asus and Microsoft. Asus just sent me a reference number and a telephone number to call. Microsoft declined to help because the Windows software had been preinstalled on the tablet.

At this point I was on the brink of returning the device but decided to try something else. After trying different ways I discovered that if I pressed the power button and the reduce volume button at the same time, I would get out of the "reverting changes " mode and into a boot mode. Here I had two options, one of them was to delete my files. I did this and, to my amazement, the device reverted to the original state.

I registered again without any problems, but now I faced the problem of what to do regarding the updates.

This time I ran the Asus Update utility first to update the Asus drivers. Next I look at the update recommended by Windows and decided to update just one file (I picked the biggest one) to see what happened. It went fine.

I've had mine for only a few days but I'm absolutely in love. I bought this as a portable art machine for lite projects, as it's specs wont allow it to handle anything too large, and it's been so great to use. The drivers needed to work with the included Wacom pen were a touch difficult to track down, but once located and installed, the pen pressure works like a dream. It's quickly becoming a pivotal tool in my daily work schedule. It's also light enough to tote in my purse so I can take it everywhere. It's a great product and was worth getting.

This is a great tablet. Paired with the keyboard and it seemingly never dies. A total of 19 hours of battery life with the keyboard which is a battery itself. The speed is decent, and it runs Windows so I can use all my normal applications. Great tablet.

I love it.
-cool, quiet
-long battery
-almost like a small laptop
-stylus works very well
-HD movies are okay
Small office uses are good.
Heavier programs take longer to load, but once loaded, works okay.
I love it, and I want to buy the keyboard dock.
ASUS stopped producing the keyboard dock.
I can't find it anywhere. That's kinda frustrating.

Did not have a good experience with this tablet. The wi-fi was insanely slow from start up. It had all kinds of trouble updating windows 8, though I expected that as I have a VivoTab smart that did too. But this one completely failed after trying to refresh windows and reinstall the updates and would never get off of "reverting changes" screen. Don't know if I got a bummer or what. In one of the settings it had someone else's name as if it had been previously used, even though I was under the impression I was buying a brand new one as I paid full price on the main purchase page. Either way. Am sending it back and considering something else already pre-upgraded to win 8.1 or maybe another VivoTab Smart.

UPDATE 7/3: PURCHASED FOR $50 MORE THE ASUS TRANSFORMER T100TA-C1 which has a keyboard dock and works like a laptop OR tablet. It was pre-upgraded to win 8.1 and no probs so far. Only bad thing is that my tablet cover, doesn't fit now. Oh well.
