Search for objects with the Built in Star Chart
The STAR BOOK stores over 22,000 celestial objects in its memory.  This includes 110 Messier objects and 4,980 NGC/IC objects.  The STAR BOOK displays objects that are in the sky for the current time and location. To begin, choose an interesting object on the screen.  Your telescope will start to slew to your target automatically when you press the Go-To button.


   

Search by a list of well known objects
The STAR BOOK contains a list of well known deep sky objects in its database, including such objects as the Andromeda Galaxy, Hyades and Pleiades.  Quickly search by name to find your observing target. Press the GoTo Button and view.

The Vixen VMC200L is a telescope suitable for observation of all types of celestial objects. It benefits from a new, lighter-weight optical tube with improved anti reflection coatings, a metal carrying handle and a 7x50 finderscope. The VMC200L is a unique design that employs a meniscus corrector lens along with two high-precision spherical mirrors to help eliminate spherical aberration and yield a sharp image with no hint of false color. The VMC200L offers excellent performance for both visual and photographic use. The open tube design eliminates the dew problem that is common with conventional Schmidt-Cassegrain systems and its compact size makes it very easy to handle. The rack and pinion focuser accepts 2" eyepieces and accessories with an adapter. The SPHINX equatorial mount and STARBOOK controller have been intelligently engineered for high-speed automatic location of celestial objects. It is now possible to explore the beauty of the night sky with greater ease and stability. The SPHINX comes standard with built in motors and the world's first star chart go-to controller, STARBOOK, with a large full color LCD display. The Sphinx's design is exceptional and the exterior styling is equally attractive.Features of the SPHINX equatorial mount: 180-tooth worm gears for fine full circle motion. 22lbs. recommended loading capacity for a wide range of optical tubes. Built in DC motors allow for improved motion of the polar axis rotation and reduce the need for heavy counterweights.A retractable counterweight shaft enables easy storage and transportation. The mount is available with the SX-HAL130 heavy duty aluminum tripod. An optional illuminated polar axis scope can be easily added to the mount body. The mount utilizes the standard Vixen dovetail bracket for attachment of telescopes. Power: 12V, center pin positive.
