I'm not a TV Techie,I simply love TV as entertainment. The picture quality is exceptional, beyond what you expect. I'm getting some channels in HD (prior to February '09) and it is AMAZING in clarity, and the sound is wonderful. My only regret is that I waited two years to buy it.

I also believe you can't get a Vizio LCD that is too big for your room, there is no such thing as too big...get the biggest you can afford. My TV room is small and this was a consideration but no longer, I'd buy even bigger now that I've lived with it for close to two years, for all my rooms!

If you love TV...my advice, don't wait to upgrade to this technology...it is light years ahead of those old models. Big, big difference!

I love my 47" Vizio LCD, money well spent at any price.

We have had this TV for only 3 short years and one random day it wouldn't turn on. My kids were watching a movie and no one touched a thing and it shut off... and has never worked again. We called Vizio and they were very unhelpful. They told us we'd need a new part and to have it professionally repaired... for $380 - out of OUR pockets. Whatever happened to the long lasting TV's from the 80's that would never die? This is unacceptable after just 3 years. What a waste of $. Now we are contemplating just getting a new TV instead of repairing the old, and it will NOT be a Vizio.

Bought from Amazon through Tiger Direct. First LCD had a blue screen after 2 minutes of use. I had already mounted it above fireplace. Vizio handled the problem quickly and replaced with a working LCD. I quickly purchased Vizios protection plan. This is an excellent LCD for the money. A very good buy. I was told Vizio uses top end screens (sharp). The picture quality is very good and is much better then the plasmas I've seen.
