Vizio VM60P 60" Plasma HDTV TV With HD ATSC Tuner

I purchased this Plasma TV in March, 2008 from Costco [...]. This was, and still probably is to date, the best deal on a flat screen TV of this size. Getting this into the Mitsubishi Montero at the store was a chore because a. it wouldn't fit in the car with the box and b. it weighs 200lbs. We left the box and lugged the TV by itself into the back of the truck and managed to get it into our house with the help of another friend. Set up is easy as expected for pretty much any new TV. The 4 HDMI ports sounds cool, although I currently only have a cable box that has HDMI out - blue ray to come later. Needless to say, when you get this massive plasma all set up and set to an HD channel, even with the factory settings, it is very impressive. We have the TV in a pretty big room, so we sit about 16 feet away - I recommend this - as with any large tv, the bigger you go, the further you should be. Anyway, once I fiddled with the settings, it really has a beautiful picture - deep blacks, good contrast, no banding that I've noticed - and it's HUGE! Therefore I recommend it highly. Nice job, Vizio.

Some points to note:
* Has the thin bronze bezel around the edges - even though I love silver and black, I think this looks great.
* Has a glossy screen, so beware of bright things like windows directly behind you.
* The audio is very good on the tv speakers alone - even has good, deep bass.
* Remote is pretty good, although I will eventually get a Harmony universal to control everything.
* I was surprised at how much heat these things put off - you can feel it 2 feet away like sun on your face.
* It's cool how the logo glows orange when it is turned off and glows white when it's on.
* It is really heavy.

Bought this TV refurbished, completely died after 5 months, and of course they only offer a 90 day warranty!
