Cheap on price, not performance.,

I bought this from Walmart not Amazon but this tv contends with others nearly double the price. I thought they would try to cheap out and give one HDMI port because of the low cost but it has three! Great for connecting cable/sat, dvd player and a gaming console all at once. For those that dont know much about hdtv's HDMI is the best connection from a device to the tv. It has NO quality loss in the process unlike a Component connection. HDMI also carrys audio in the same wire cutting down on sloppy wires in a tangled mess. The picture quality is equal to Sony and other major brands I seen side by side in stores. Only thing negative I can think of is the remote has two UGLY buttons, the volume and channel. But not buying this tv for a tiny cosmetic problem on the remote is crazy. I wouldnt normally give anything five stars but with what Vizio gives you in comparison with the price they get it.

I know why it's cheap,

I bought my vp322hdtv10a and like everyone else I was so very happy with it. Then after only 2 years of use, it began clicking on and off, before it would turn on and finally it died, right after 2 years.
I looked up the model number to see if there were complaints and found PLENTY. It seems Vizio used cheap capacitors rated for temperatures of ony 105F. It is quite easy from the heat this unit produces to exceed that temperature. The power supply will go out after 2 years. It is poorly designed as the temperature cannot exceed 105F and you can not buy 10 volt capacitors that do exceed 105F you must buy 12 volt. By effecting a rapair, you will have a dead TV again in 2 years, by trying to correct their engineering error you run the risk of burning out other parts due to the increase in voltage. Vizio pretends to not be aware of this problem even though it is all over the Internet, and will blame your outlet and will not stand behind this product. If you have one, I'm sorry, and if you are considering buying one factor in $125 each year for a new power supply board which will need replaced. You will probably be better off going with another TV made by somone who will stand behind their product and correct their mistakes.

Like the other reviewer I got this from W**-Mart due to the price. The picture is fantastic, way better than the TV it replaces (a ViewSonic). It picks up HBO and Flix on unencrypted channels which switch numbers sometimes (Comcast changes which unencrypted channels go where periodically, I notice). The TV has numerous input types; I believe every type is covered. I have this TV connected to a Panasonic DVD-R/VCR and DVD playback is also superb.
I don't mind the remote because I often watch in the dark and the channel and volume buttons are easy to find by feel. Also, I read that plasma is supposed to use more energy than LCD, but my first HDTV was LCD and this one seems to use about the same energy, meaning my electric bill did not go up at all. If I did have a complaint it would be how limited the sleep timer is (only up to 90 minutes; my old TV went up to 2 hours and had smaller increments) and the lack of a clock you can call up by clicking an "Info" button. But if I never had those features, I would probably never miss them. I paid a little over five-hundred for mine, but the price has dropped since then.

Good Image quality, but power board burned close to the 12 month warranty limit,

This is my first flat HD TV. I liked it, the only cons is the burn-in happening quite fast. Few weeks ago it started to take a while for it to turn on, it would power cycle on and off several time. And eventually it just didn't turn on...
It was 2 weeks from the 1 year warranty with Vizio. Their tech support was very nice, and said that this was likely the power board and they would send someone to fix it. The following day the servicing company called to fix an appointment a few days later (they need to get the power board first). The technician (HD Repair) was very nice and repaired the TV in no time (new power board). According to him Vizio is a good brand, he doesn't know what would make this happen. Everything is back to normal now, hopefully this new power board will last until the light source dies for good in 6-8 years. My guess is that, like most computer manufacturer, they recycle spare parts. I have no problem with that, except that the quality control must be top notch, which is apparently not the case.

I got this model at Walmart so no reflection on Amazon, but wanted to share my experience. As the title says, it is a nice TV, loved the plasma display...but suddenly started having trouble after 14 months..the power would cycle on/off 3-6 times when the TV was turned on and then stay on. Then after 2 weeks, nothing, no power. The only bright side is I had purchased a 3rd party extended warranty (Square Trade)for only $30 (a bargain) that covers it (3 years). Vizio only has a 1 year warranty which is something to be weary of. Good luck.

It's an affordable TV, however you will absolutely need some external surround sound system, the volume alone on the TV is really not good at all but it has all the bells and whistles for you to connect several external devices, especially 3 HDMI ports! Nice. The remote control is very very basic, so i got me a universal control instead to use along with my DVR box and my DVD box. I just use the remote as a spare :)

DO NOT BUY VIZIO!,
By
This review is from: Vizio VP322HDTV10A 32" Class Plasma HDTV (Electronics)
I purchased this TV from Walmart in July 2008. The picture is very nice. My only complaint up until about a week ago was that the sound quality is bad. I have to turn up the volume quite loud in order to hear normal. It is now the end of August 2010 and my tv has started to have problems turning on. When I press the power button either on the remote or on the tv itself, it makes a clicking sound and the Vizio light on the front of the tv turns from white (ON) to orange (OFF) multiple times before actually turning on the power. After reading multiple recent reviews of this and other Vizio telivisions it seems that this is a common problem. It seems that the only good reviews for this tv are from people who have had the tv only for a little amount of time. Almost all reviews I have seen where the tv has been owned for more than a year are negative reviews. I say spend a couple hundred dollars more and get a good brand telivision because it will be cheaper in the long run. I know that I can not afford to buy a new tv every two years or so.

Well, it was a good price,

The store mentioned in the other reviews seems to be the popular place to get this TV. One can't beat the price, which has recently been lowered to under $450.
Unfortunately, for me, this TV was a no go. The unit itself was beautiful and the picture as good as any of the other TVs on store's shelf. However, I wound up returning my unit. I was getting screen burn after only 2 minutes (seriously, I timed it. Very noticeable after setting up my DVD player - text stuck on screen, and between scenes on DVDs - I would see the top and bottom letterbox bars burned in) and would have to run the white-wash screen cleaner for several hours to remove the burn in. (Horrible when tv is in the bedroom! Can't sleep.) This burn in issue should not be the case with Plasma TVs these days. In addition, I found the remote very limiting. There is no closed captioning button on the remote and I need to use this option often to turn the CC on and off. Instead, one has to go through multiple menus through the setup functionality in order to toggle closed captioning on and off. Also, there was no way to determine signal strength of channels being received by antenna. I needed this to calibrate properly. Fortunately, my el-cheapo 19 inch TV does this so I could still calibrate. One last note. Due to the screen burn issue, I called Vizio's customer support. They answered promptly, and seemed to be in America (perfect, non-accented English.) They claimed the screen burn in issue shouldn't occur as it did, and recommended I simply return it. After reading through the reviews on the store's site, I found that screen burn in was a somewhat common issue, so I chose not to get a replacement unit. I give the TV five stars for picture, looks, price, and availability of Vizio's customer support. I give it 1 star for screen burn in, lack of remote features, and lack of signal strength indicator. I would be very interested in hearing about other's experiences related to screen burn in. If it truly was just a defective unit and if they were to update the remote control in the next model, I would consider trying out this brand and type of TV again.

I agree w/ all the bad reveiws. I to own a 32" plasma that has now after about 2 years use stopped powering on. I just sent Vizio an email to see what their plans are to correct this Manufact. issue. I doubt much based on all the bad reviews. STAY AWAY FROM ANY VIZIO PRODUCTS. Spend a few extra $$$$$$ and buy a name brand product from a established Company.

Great for the price, but does not last,
This review is from: Vizio VP322HDTV10A 32" Class Plasma HDTV (Electronics)
I too, purchased this TV, not from Amazon, but from Walmart. I had this TV for a little over 2 year without a problem. Then, for about 3-4 days, when I would power up the TV it would make multiple clicking sounds and take about 20-30 seconds to power up. Finally one morning the TV did not power up. For a TV not to last for more that 2 years is like throwing money down the drain. Now I am having to purchase a brand new television -- this should have never happened!
