I bought this for my grandmother so she could get updates from various family members around the country. Fortunately I tested it first to make sure everything worked before sending the gift.

Initial activation failed and customer service stated it was because I bought it from Amazon and not direct, however the problem was fixed one day later. I still have some family members that can not send photos to the frame even though they are set up correctly.

The Vizit web site downscales pictures to a rather grainy resolution. The screen itself is not of the quality you would expect from a $300 device and looks poor when compared to an iPhone or the like. However grandma is 102 and probably doesn't notice the difference. If it was mine I'd return it. Operating the touch screen takes a little practice because the menu options aren't so obvious or easily activated (takes a firm press at times).

At the moment it works except as noted above and she likes it. As the account holder I get emails every time someone uploiads a pictures so I can see which cousins actually use the thing. Overall the concept is great but needs better execution. Future generations of the product should be much improved.

4 stars, 5 stars, I can't split hairs over this. I haven't seen another frame like this on the market so there's nothing I can compare to. I paid $165 dollars for this frame from amazon (open-box, perfect condition) and chose the $79/yr plan for up to 1450 pics emailed or MMS'd to the frame, and for that price for a mom who's technologically out of it, it is absolutely awesome! The touch screen isn't super responsive but it does function well enough. I can invite people to MMS or email pics to the frame (the frame itself does not have its own phone number) through the vizit website. Some pictures are a bit grainy but then again my phone is only a 2mp but I'm sure 5mp Droid pics should look great. The frame has a USB and SD slot but the frame's internal memory itself only holds about 150 pics. So as new ones are sent, the older ones will leave the frame once the 150 pic limit is reached. However, those older removed pics are still in a folder on your account page on the vizit website (you have pic 2 folders - one for the frame and one for everything in general that is sent). The slideshow speed can be set to 7sec, 1 min, 1 hour or 1 day. You can also delete or rotate pics from the website or from the frame itself, block pics, reply to the sender from the *frame* with a "thanks!" or "send more!" or any one of 8 different phrases that you can personalize from the website. There is an energy saver setting so that when the room is dark the frame shuts off. Don't pay more than $200 for this frame, that was the normal price a few weeks ago and I see that it's back up to retail.

My mom can't work a computer and has grandchildren several states away that she absolutely loves. This is the *perfect* gift! I and my siblings can all send her pictures and she will be amused every single day. It's like a mini Christmas for her 365 days a year.

Bought a second frame! Giving to my best friend for Christmas. For people who seem to have all the tech gadgets already (or at least enough money to buy what they want themselves), I think this gift is perfect - the fact that only invited people can send pictures to the frame at any time makes this very unique. The frame gives a message when new photos arrive and it's a great little surprise for the frame owner. I told a friend about this frame and she bought two of them.

I contacted Vizit customer support about one issue and they were fantastic - sometimes the pictures do take a few hours to make it to the frame, but so far I haven't had any problems with it. Some pictures arrive within minutes, some took a couple of hours, but they all made it. Just like using mms on your cell, sometimes there is a huge delay, sometimes none.

As long as this frame doesn't break down, I'm giving it 5 stars...

This frame is super easy to set up and use. The photos can be sent directly from cellphones or by email, completely eliminating the need to transfer photos manually onto a memory card; interface with a computer; or travel to a website to upload photos. My daughter sent me copies of her digital ultrasound photos as an attachment to an email and it immediately was displayed on my frame. Now I have the "first" pictures of my first grandchild on display!

I had a few issues with the initial logins on the website, but I eventually worked it out and from that point on it has been a breeze. Highly recommend if you just don't want to bother with a lot of extra steps and love finding surprises on your frame when your family is thinking of you.
