Despite some other reviews and when used correctly; these ties can be made tight enough to actually cut into a block of pine wood.

And, BTW, one of the images showing the tie in a tear drop shaped loop is incorrect use.
When looped correctly through the lock; it should appear as a circle with lock parallel to material and not a tear drop with lock perpendicular to material.

And when installed correctly, with a pair of needle nose pliers to act as a leverage wench to 'wind up' and tighten steel tie, they can be installed very tightly on hoses, wire, pipe or whatever.

And, no, when stretched; they do not act as a 'spring tight' tie like some plastic ties can do.
And even plastic ties do tend to 'relax' over time anyway. . .

my order via amazon took about 10 days to arrive from china to california.
product delivered seems to be a very good quality.

I've tried a few of them and they seem to be strong and the zip teeth seem to be well made, ie I was not able to pull the loose end back out once put into the 'teeth'.

I am so impressed with the price and quality, I will see if the manufacture offers lager sizes.

I very much wanted to like these, as they were economical when compared to Band-It clamps. However, they are no longer economical when you end up wasting 10 of them before one will hold properly.

As the other reviewer stated, once you get them "tight," there's an 1/8"-1/4" of slack that appears once you let go.

The cable ties are useless. I managed to get 1 or 2 to tighten by grabbing the locking part with pliers and then using another pair of pliers to pull out the slack.

I was using these to hold some exhaust/header wrap in place around my new y-pipe. However, they prove useless. If you want the wrap to stay in place, use some Band-It clamps. True, you need a special tool, and they aren't cheap, but they will hold tightly forever. I was fortunate enough to have some at work.

Heed my warning! These are JUNK.

Of course the price is outrageous cheap compared to the plastic stuff around here, but about 15% will not lock

All of the brackets that hold up my exhaust system on my car had rusted through and broke off. I used these stainless steel wire wraps to temporarily hold up my exhaust system until I had time to replace the everything.

Plastic zip ties degrade and eventually break in sunlight; these ties can be used in place of plastic zip ties.

I have cut them with wire cutters (with difficulty) -- they are VERY strong!!

Again, if you want a tie to keep holding for almost forever, these ties are it!!!

zip ties hold up great on my muffler straps easy to install heat wrap with a quarter inch overlap on each turn.,,, use a zip tie tool for tightening otherwise they will remain loose fit.

Well, maybe I just got a bad batch. These things were terrible. I used them to secure a thermotec heat wrap that I applied to my atv. I could not for the life of me get these things to tighten down on the wrap and exhaust enough to hold the wrap in place with any grip.

I was able to get one of them to work by taking a pair of pliers and smashing the teeth housing together. After that the strap didn't budge when I pulled it right. I couldn't get this same method to work on any other straps.

To be more specific, when I pulled on the strap to tighen it, it would pull really tight. But then when I let the strap go, the band would loosen about 1/16" to 1/8". There was too much play.

I ended up going to lowes and buying stainless steel ratchet type hose clamps.
