This review is from: A Vocabulary of Roanoke (Library Binding)
This is a small volume, but if you have an interest in the native language of the North Carolina Algonquians (also known as the Croatans, the ancestors of the present-day Lumbees), it is invaluable. The Croatan language has long been extinct, and nearly everything that is known about it is gathered into this slim book: five sixteenth and seventeenth century glossaries, plus a historical background.
