Pons died in 1976. I wasnt aware of her death during that time. In the 1980's I became really interested in collecting as many of her recordings that were available. I think she was the greatest coloratura soprano who ever lived and if you read Sills & Peters comments about her they too agreed. I found this recording which was probably issued about the time of her 100th birthday. Only the "Shadow song" sounds like the Pons I loved. The other recordings are old,and tinny sounding some of them are recorded back nearly 80 years ago.
