Given that "Mack And Mabel" is arguably Herman's best score so far, it's nice to have it available for the general public, particularly in accesible keys (the original key for "Time Heals Everything" is ludicrous) and though I own the complete vocal score, it's chicken scratch. I can read it, but if you're working with a voice student who is trying to decipher lyrics and music for "wherever He Ain't" while learning to act at the same time well, there are just too many question marks in the head. For the low price of this item, it's well worth adding to your library. As for the reprise of "Roses", it's a simple enough thing to listen to Peter's sing it and then use the vocal selections to re-create the orchestration. A rest is a rest, after all. It's a good buy and it will make up for those of us who never bought "La Cage Aux Folles."

The sheet music in this book differs slightly from the music you hear on the Mack & Mabel CD, but overall it provides adequate piano accompaniment.

This is a great vocal selection. The full score is not available, but in this book is almost the whole score. The only things missing are the overture (obviously), the reprsie of "I Wont Send Roses", and the not so great song "My Heart Leaps Up". So eleven of the fourteen songs are here. It is not so challenging to pianists or to vocalists, but it is not simple music. A great addition to the Jerry Herman fans collection.

This show's strength was certainly in its music. Its plot was depressing, its required choreography and effects difficult. The music, however, is some of Jerry Herman's finest work. 'Time Heals Everything' is a classic of love and pain. All of the music has a very period feel, appropriate to the setting of the show, somewhat frenetic at times.
