This is a great book, that every body who speaks Spanish or is learning Spanish should read. Is full of stories about authors, and people in our Latin-American story. I love to read the life of an author and then match it with his/her writing. Don't miss this book. Order it now!

While I think this book is an incredible anthology of hispanic writers, The question and answer sections at the end of the chapters, to me, seem quite difficult to figure out, but I am keeping in mind, that I'm not a completely fluent reader!

I would recommend this book

Typical literature textbook. Layout is nice because of chronological groupings. Also, I like the biographical information about each author.

Estudiamos con este libro desde el principio hasta el final, incluyendo el glosario. Es un libro ideal para quien no tiene mucha idea sobre los períodos literarios, da un pantallazo general que siempre es útil. Las pregunas o actividades sugeridas al final de cada autor son muy interesantes, están bien planteadas y promueven la investigación posterior. Creo que el objetivo perseguido con este libro es tan ambicioso que por momentos se torna muy general. De todas formas vaya una cosa por la otra: algo general pero muy abarcativo. Lo que más me preocupa son los numerosos errores de información sobre todo en lo que tiene que ver con las fechas. Hay casos en que un mismo evento aparece en la misma página con dos fechas distintas, o se le atribuye algo a un autor en un momento en el que ya estaba muerto. Errores groseros como decir que Juan de Ibarborou es argentina y no uruguaya es inaceptable. Balzac fue demasiado importante e influyente como para poner mal su fecha de nacimiento. Se pone como reinado de Fernando e Isabel al periodo 1474-1504 cuando se sabe que Carlos V no asumió el poder hasta 1516. Es cierto que Isabel murió en 1504 pero siguió Fernando. Eso no está claro en el texto. Y esto para nombrar solo algunos errores de información, lo que hace que uno se ponga muy desconfiado sobre las fechas que se manejan y de las cuales uno no sabe nada. Serán exactas? O estaré asumiendo como correcta una información que no lo es? Hay también errores de tipeo (pág. 7, 261 y 287 por citar algunos que recuerdo) y alguna falta de ortografía que denota que no ha habido una edición exhaustiva, y ésta se supone que es la tercera edición...
En suma, es un buen libro de clase, pero los errores le bajan el puntaje.

Was in very good condition. Took two and a half weeks to arrive though. Other than the arrival time, everything was wonderful. Had no writing or marks on the inside or outside.

The book I ordered was delivered quickly and in the condition as promised. I have no complaints and definitely recommend this seller.

I ordered this book for a college class. When it was not delivered within the prescribed time, I contacted the seller who was very unresponsive in dealing with my problem. Finally AMAZON refunded my money. Then six weeks after the order, I finally received an "apology" email from the seller telling me to return the book if it ever came!

The book was in great condition, it seemed new. It took a bit longer to get here because of the holiday but I got it before I needed it for class. I also got in contact witht the seller and they replied very quickly to my email and were very helpful!!
