The USB port is helpful if you want to play MP3 music, but make sure you know that the only way you can Karaoke is by playing CD+G Karaoke disks. No CD+G DISK = no Karaoke.

Also, I've had some build quality issues. This unit is going to be returned.

All I can say is wow. for the price this is well worth buying. I come from England and I love British comedy but as many shows are not shown in the states its hard to get DVDs. Well with this machine I can buy and watch all my favorite British shows. The Karaoke on here is great for small parties and family get together's. I have not tried the usb and I probably wont. As I said this is an awesome machine for the price you pay.
