good little book,

This review is from: Vogue Knitting on the Go! Crocheted Scarves Two (Pt. 2) (Hardcover)
Book is nice and small, can easily be taken places and worked with. As with any project pattern book, some are good patterns, and some patterns you would most probably never use. People are different, though, and may like the patterns I didn't. I would use about 3/4 of the patterns myself, and I do like the size and convenience.

The instructions are lengthy. So far I found two patterns that have confusing instructions and did not seem to match with the pictures.

Some of the negative reactions to this little book surprise me. Yes, there are scarves in here that I wouldn't make (the one that includes wooden beads! An idea whose time should never have come.) but isn't that the case with every pattern book? Frankly, I probably would not make any of the fringes, but, I dislike fringes. I see these scarves as treats for the younger members of the family: little girls would love the cover scarf and teenagers would like some of the more elaborate designs, like the Squiggle Scarf and the Three Strip Scarf. There are scarves to make for men and little boys would love the Penguin Scarf. I think anyone looking for projects to make and give as gifts would like this book.

I bought this book because there was a scarf that I wanted to make that was in this book. It wasn't really worth buying because I ended up finding the same pattern on ravelry.com for free. There was only one other scarf that I thought was worth making in this book. You may have a different sense of taste but if they have it in a library you may want to look at a copy before purchasing.

I have to say that the cover pattern was the best pattern in the book.
