Never mind that the patterns here have been gathered from many previous issues of the 20-year-old Vogue Knitting. And it doesn't really make much difference that, in this collection of 50-plus "quick" projects, not one indicates how much time is required to complete the work. As always, the magazine has compiled a treasury of well-designed, mostly easy-to-fashion (as in Very Easy Very Vogue, 1999) wearables for women--plus a few for men and kids--with excellent color photographs and never-fail directions. After a first short chapter covering the basics (reading patterns, yarn selection, terms, gauge, and the like), copy is light and focuses primarily on the projects. This book is full of patterns using todays thicker yarns - great for quick projects. I knit a floor-length hooded vest in a weekend!
Although some of the patterns are a bit outdated, you can easily adapt them for todays styles (i.e. shorten up the length of the pullovers and add bell sleeves).
There is a wide variety of patterns, from sweaters to shawls to evening wear.
Some experience required - as there is shaping involved.

I was left wanting a little more after getting this book. You would think a Vogue book would have up to date styles. I found a lot of the patterns dated and even kind of ugly. I wouldn't spend my valuable time knitting something that I wouldn't want to wear myself.
