My sister (a Professional) recommened I purchase this book. I am glad I waited for the newly revised edition of this book. It's very good. It touches on all aspect's of sewing. Pattern adjustment's, style, color, construction, ect. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a beginner or has not atteneded any formal instruction classes for sewing. The only thing I didn't like was that the illustration's were drawn and not actual photographs. But the drawings were still adequate. They were understandable. Buy it. You'll be glad you did. I also bought The Complete Photo Guide to Sewing by Singer. Together they work very well.

This item provides clearly defined illustrations in light blue shading where appropriate. It is a current revision of previous issues with timely updates for decades of styles as reference. It is a pleasant reading experience for those already with excellent sewing skills.

An excellent source of instruction for the home sewer. If I were to own just one book on garment sewing, this would be the one. Well diagramed and explianed.It offers technics and insites to garment construction from the most simple aplication to the couture'. Also for your personal body type in identifing your style, fit and tips on making alterations.
