4.0 out of 5 stars Even solo they are good, but not as great when they ABBA
Somewhere near the end of ABBA's decade long run Anni-Frid became Frida. It neither affected her wonderful singing nor the group's name. This album features solo songs by the ladies of ABBA, Angetha and Anni-Frid (or Frida if you prefer). The tracks are presented with Agnetha and Frida in alternating songs beginning and ending with Agnetha. They are all good but...

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but I expected more
I've read what the other reviewers had to say before beginning my
own. I personally like the slower songs better than the faster
because I feel you can get more from their voices that way.
I really didn't care as much for the "bouncy" styles but did like most
of the ballads. I agree with Big John in that after several listenings

They are all good but somehow lack a little of the quality as when they sang together. As some have already noted Agnetha's solos are of the slow variety with two exceptions: "I Won't Let You Go", which I feel is the best track on this album, and "The Heat Is On" with a calypso flavor, are more up tempo than her other tracks. Even so, her soprano voice is a pleasure to listen to. As for Frida, I always thought her songs with ABBA generated a few more goose bumps than when Agnetha sang solo with Frida providing some backup. This album clearly shows the reason why. Her solo performances on this album are great.

As history has shown neither had the same strong career as when they were together as ABBA. But this album displays their individual solo talents and is well worth having.

5.0 out of 5 stars Different But Good, June 6, 2004

I guess I was expecting the "ABBA" sound when I bought this and it took a few times through to begin to appreciate the songs for themselves. The singing styles are a bit different than what you might expect, but the voices are there. Bottom line is that these two ladies can flat out sing. I noticed that other reviewers seem to prefer one over the other and that's fine. Remember though, that without one or the other they wouldn't have been ABBA to begin with. Each brings a certain flavor to this disc and I am enjoying it. If you were (and still are) an ABBA fan, this CD is well worth a listen. Just be prepared to give it time to grow on you. You'll be happy you did.

This review is from: Voice of Abba (Audio CD)
The best of Frida and Agnetha's post ABBA solo work is well documented on this compilation. The cd features Frida's big hit singles,'I know there's something going on','To turn the stone' and 'Shine',and Agnetha's big hit singles 'Wrap yuor arms around me' and 'The heat is on'.The album features many rare b-side tracks that have never appeared on cd before. An album which contains many styles, including rock, dance and ballad, which makes for plesant listening.Buy it today! It's a lot different to the work they did with ABBA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of Agnetha and Frida's post ABBA work., October 1, 1999

This is a very good compliation to show what the women of ABBA did after ABBA. Frida's songs are by far the better of the solo efforts; I actually purchased both of her albums after listening to this. Agnetha's songs, though not interesting enough to buy her albums, are well worth listening to as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clearly ABBA needs another album, June 15, 2001
This review is from: Voice of Abba (Audio CD)
I am a really big fan of ABBA, but I have listened to this and the girls are good but they are really better together. I mean, I probably will buy this album because of the really great song I KnowThere's Something Going On by Frida, but in the rest of the songs the girls seem to be taking a step down. Anyway, order it and you'll see!

All in all I prefer their voices when they sing together. I think
that if they had done that on these recordings that they would have sold
thousands more. They shouldn't have named this CD "the Voice Of ABBA"
because it has very little to do with the ABBA sounds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get rid of Frida!!!!!!, August 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Voice of Abba (Audio CD)
Who had the idea to combine the brilliant songs of Agnetha with the dull once of Frida? Frida did not keep up with the quality of ABBA's records. Agnetha did. If you buy this CD You'll get the best of Agnetha and the worst of Frida. But you do get to discover youself why Agnteha sang the lead on most of ABBA's hits!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Agnetha is ok but Frida is better., July 6, 2001

I bought this cd, and i have listened it for several times.

Agnetha has good songs, but they're so slow and all talk about love and things like that.

Frida, is realistic, and she has better songs.

All the major hits by ABBA were sang by Frida(Dancing Queen: Agnetha & Frida, Knowing Me, Knowing You: Frida).

Agnetha sings in most ABBA songs, but Frida sings in the better songs.
