GREAT BOOK,
By
This review is from: The Voice of the Heart: A Call to Full Living with CD (Audio) (Hardcover)
I just wanted to quickly respond to a previous review of this book. If there is such a thing truth, then that 'truth' is unalterable. The reviewer writes, ' The Voice of the Heart is not for Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Taoists, Mystics or any other group that may hold to a different view of how the Universe is "put together" and how it works. Therefore, it cannot be the vessel containing the "unalterable truth" that the author proclaims. It seems to me that this particular viewer has a skewed view of what truth is, since if it doesn't agree with every other religious point of view, according to the reviewer, then it is thus does not contain `unalterable truths'. Does it follow that any viewpoint that doesn't agree with all other viewpoints is thus not truth? This book is a fantastic introduction into the nature of the heart, and I highly recommend it for anyone curious and seeking.

A Great Resource!,

This review is from: The Voice of the Heart: A Call to Full Living with CD (Audio) (Hardcover)
A wonderful resource! I have read through this book twice now, and have found it to be an excellent resource for discovering insight about our feelings. Dr. Dodd reveals the true nature of feelings as positive expressions of the people God created us to be. The chapters on sadness and anger were especially insightful. This work recognizes that we are spiritual people who have the capability to live fully, authentically, and healthily in relationship with self, others, and most importantly God. The concept of a spiritual root system highlights the means for achieving this full and abundant life. Those who are in search of a deeper, fuller, more meaningful life will certainly find guidance and assistance here.

I found this book to be refreshing and inspiring. As I process the content, I know that I will be called up to a fuller life. Unlike the reviewer, Kool Aid, I found it to be intellectually stimulating and not too difficult to follow. Yes, truths were presented but at a level I could digest and absorb. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a deeper fuller life.

Move over Dr. Phil...,

This review is from: The Voice of the Heart: A Call to Full Living with CD (Audio) (Hardcover)
To say that this book has changed my life is such an understatement. The truth revealed in it has allowed me to discover my heart and speak from it. At first I had to look at the list of impaired emotions so that I could find out what I really was really feeling. Once I learned to be honest about those feelings with myself, then to God, and then others, I experienced a freedom that was truly life changing. I now know how to live in fullness and not impairment. Thanks, Chip, for writing this book and revealing such truth.

The Voice of the Heart,

This review is from: The Voice of the Heart: A Call to Full Living with CD (Audio) (Hardcover)
This is the best and most amazing book I have ever read. We are going to be reading it for our book club. I am so thrilled to have found this gem and want to thank Chip for this insightful biblical perspective on our god-given emotions. He has changed my thinking about the feelings I considered negative. All eight emotions are a gift of God: hurt, loneliness, sadness, anger, fear, shame, guilt and gladness. Dr. Frattaroli was the first author I had read to mention that pain is good - it leads us to healing. Now Chip takes it a step further to show how all the emotions are good - they lead us to change our path to get to gladness. He does a great job at showing how each emotion has a potential positive or negative result. The point really is to use the emotions to get the positive result and avoid the negative. Eye-opening and insightful!

EYE OPENER- WHAT COMES FROM THE HEART TOUCHES THE SOUL- A MASTERPIECE!,

This review is from: The Voice of the Heart: A Call to Full Living with CD (Audio) (Hardcover)
I have read this book many times! My husband has as well. He is actually going through it in his accountability group, and he loves it! I find this book has clarified many myths & wrong perspectives about feelings & living life on earth. In our marriage, we use a check up of the 8 feelings & it has brought us closer...We understand each other better, what love is, it helps us see others from a more compassionate perspective, & most importantly it shows us how God is and how He intends for us to live a FULL LIFE as we know how to express our feelings (the voice of the heart)& how to recognize (by conviction of the Holy Spirit & understanding )when we are indeed not allowing the feeling's expression to be as God wishes. Dr. Dodd created, in my opinion a masterpiece. In my path to healing, spiritual growth, and allowing God to mold my heart (which is under construction), this book has taken me very far in my process. It has influenced the way I see life for better! I love it!

Feelings are just feelings...and they are my TRUTH!!!,
By Jeff P (Nashville, TN.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Voice of the Heart: A Call to Full Living with CD (Audio) (Hardcover)
To live life more fully has been my desire ever since I cognitively looked at myself and asked, "What is God's plan for me?" This book, using the "spiritual root system", simply lays out a plan for healthy living. I have listened to the CD that is a "supplement" to the book, over and over,it's great. I respectfully agree with the 8 feelings mentioned in the book, because it fits ("..more like eyesight and thirst than they are like morality and behavior). Thanks Chip for putting into such easy to understand words information that daily saves my life.Self-help with a solution of God-help...a relationship with my Heavenly Father through feeling my feelings, telling the truth, and trusting He will take care of me, as I strive to live life more fully.

I feel, therefore I am...,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Voice of the Heart: A Call to Full Living with CD (Audio) (Hardcover)
This book does a very good job of explaining emotions simply. I was taught that feelings were something I must have under control, that to have feelings about anything was to be weak. Males who showed emotions were sissy's. This author helped me to continue to believe that my feelings are God-given and "okay." They help me to better understand and express what I need. I have spent much of my life ignoring my feelings and continually hurting myself and others. This book helped explain how emotions are the most important information I have in understanding my life experience. It also helped me realize that feelings are the most important thing I can share with my family and friends.
