About the Author

Her novel, Voice of Reason, evolved from a desire to tell a story many of us must face one day, the death of a spouse, and a renewal of life. Connie Rainbolt spent her childhood in the open country of Wyoming where her imagination was given free reign. Her school years were spent painting pictures and making up stories to go along with them. As an adult, she still enjoys small town life and the challenges it brings. She has many hobbies such as painting, pottery and writing poetry and children's books. Connie has loved books for as long as she can remember and has been writing for over twenty years. She has a passion to write about characters with real struggles, complex motives; compelling pain, hopes, fears, strengths and weaknesses. She wants the reader to laugh and reach a little deeper and ponder possibilities.

Review of Voice of Reason by C.E. Rainbolt. While this book is not a blockbuster it is a very good read. Rainbolt makes good use of sensory imagery. Her characters are real flesh and blood people -- complex and three dimensional personalities who struggle with issues that we all face at one time or another in our lives. Voice of Reason is a great book to give as a gift to someone who is hurting from the loss of a loved one. This book is also a great book for a rainy Saturday afternoon. Long before the end of the book Paige, Lilly and Duncan became more than interesting characters; they became cherished friends in my heart. I must admit I read this book in one sitting (and on a warm sunny Friday rather than a rainy Saturday) with only two short breaks so I heartily recommend this book to other readers. More than just being well crafted with great passion and superlative use of imagery and empathy, it also gives hope to anyone closing on or surpassing the big fifty age mark that they do not have to live a life of loneliness, if their mate gives up the breath of life.
