inaccurate yet hilarious!,
By o.c. (philadelphia, pa) - See all my reviews

this book made me realize that "go ask alice" was not "edited" by beatrice sparks but WRITTEN by her. why? well, all these stories, supposedly straight from the mouths of "real teens", are all written in the exact same voice. not only the exact same voice, but the exact same UNBELIEVABLE voice. i'm sorry, teenagers of the 20th century DO NOT use phrases such as, "the dad-gummed donkey just wouldn't move!"
these stories are all entirely ludicrous. in the cult story, the narrator leads an uneventful life until she sees a girl on a bus who says, "jesus loves you!" she follows this girl to a backwoods cult, where she toils 18 hours a day and barely eats. huh? my fave was the homosexual one, about a girl whose parents get divorced for absolutely no reason. since she thinks male-female relationships will never work out, she of course becomes a sick, depraved lesbian. as a well-adjusted lesbian, i'm offended by this, but can't help but giggle. i can't believe anyone in the course of human events has ever taken this seriously. the only reason why i'm giving it 2 stars is due to its sheer hilarity factor. great for reading out loud while drunk!

This is a good book if you are interested in young adult issues and problems.I have a 13 year old daughter and she also reads a lot of these books. I think if they read about them early they are less likely to get into the drugs and alcohol or be able to handle peer pressure better because they know what a lot of the outcomes can be.

Ms. Sparks in this book lists homosexuality as a problem. Talk about a religious...
Anyway, I don't recomend this horrid book and after reading this, I will never buy a book 'editied' by this old witch.
