This is a fascinating edition of the Tibetan art of throat-singing. The tones created solely by the monks voices are soothing, almost other-worldly. The addition of the percussion adds greatly to the dramatic effect of this music. Strongly recommended for anyone interested in vocalizing (or for that matter, just interested in great music).

A departure, a surprise!,

While Tibetan chanting is certainly not my normal cup of tea, I decided to listen to this recording because of the people who produced it. OgrePgress recordings have long been favorites of mine so I gave it a shot. What a terrific surprise! This is pure. This is enchanting. This is mesmerizing. This has sent me in a new and previously unknown musical direction. I'm obviously not an aficionado of Tibetan music or monks or chanting... nevertheless, this is a remarkable recording and I strongly recommend it to everyone, particularly those of us who had no clue! I know that Buddhism is also an important aspect of this music, but I feel it stands on its own. That it might also represent peace, non violence or spirituality is a happy side benefit. As always, the recording quality from the strangely named OgreOgress is superb!
