5.0 out of 5 stars A great introduction to the writings of a great African writer., July 2, 2007

This review is from: Voices Made Night (African Writers Series) (Paperback)
This is a collection of short stories by Mia Couto. Beautiful and well written they cover the lives of the ordinary people of Mozambique and what matters to them. It realy is amazing how well Mia Couto is able to take you to that distant corner of Africa and into the lives of the people from city dweller to rural people.

A short book and probably the best introduction to Mia Couto you could find, probably one of the best introductions to African literature you could find.
