Book Description

Redemption is book 3 in the Voidhawk series

Having left the ship and crew behind, Rosh has spent years alone in the void, working for the highest bidder. Plagued by memories of his former friends, lessons learned, and loves lost the cursed warrior struggles to find a purpose for his enduring existence.

Stumbling into a plot to usurp a throne, Rosh inadvertently becomes the master of a powerful demoness. Unable to rid himself of her for fear of what she might do to the rest of the world, Rosh is forced to bring her with him and attempt to teach her the difference between right and wrong. The irony of having been on the receiving end of those same lessons himself not so long ago is not lost on him.

As the impossible happens and the demoness seeks to learn new ways to please her Master, Rosh'es inner demons prove to be no less a threat. Before the warrior is ready a new danger awaits on a battlefield he has spent his entire life avoiding.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Voidhawk 3 - Redemption by Jason Halstead is a steal for the price. This entertaining story is for all of us who at the end of Voidhawk 2 - The Elder Race said "What the...? Rosh?!" and have been simmering in suspense for the next installment of the Voidhawk series. This book follows Rosh's adventures after he leaves the 'Hawk and while he has left them he can't forget them. As he wanders and works his way through life, seemingly to escape his past emotional entanglements, Rosh learns some life lessons, understanding, responsibility, and earns absolution and redemption. Rosh has grown as an individual, approaches life with his own code, and is "Rosh" through and through. So, Mr. Halstead, when's the next installment of your great Voidhawk series? - Valerie McCarty

From the Author

This is the third book in the Voidhawk series. Redemption and the next few that follow will be focusing on the individual members of the original crew, though I do have plans for quite the reunion of those that can survive life away from the 'Hawk.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, however... October 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I just finished reading this installment of the series and as with the others, thought it was a great read...however, I'm somewhat dismayed by the length of each subsequent installment. This one had 172 pages, I believe the next has 157...so if I buy the next book, I'm paying $8.00 for two books that are just barely longer than book 2 that I paid $5 for. I finished all three books in 4 days (they are that good), so continuing the series would get a little too pricey for me. Great series, but a better value would be to combine book 3 & 4 together into one larger book for $5.00......just my 2 cents...or $8.00 depending on how you look at it.

This was a fun story to follow but this installment lacked the creative force of the first few stories. Not worth the money

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book February 3, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was another great read in the Voidhawk series. Rosh is a man trying to be bad or amoral, but keeps becoming a hero. I have enjoyed every book in the Voidhawk series that I have read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Read December 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A little difficult to get in to until you can adjust to the story being about the things Rosh gets up to after leaving the Voidhawk. Almost as if the writer is filling in some blank spots before getting back to the main story.
Once you adjust to the new plot the story is enjoyable and not easy to put down.

More About the Author

Short version: Jason Halstead is a science fiction and fantasy author who spends his free time with his wife and two children, writing, and powerlifting.

Long version: Jason's always wanted to write, but making a living at it seemed unobtainable. So instead of writing fiction, he turned to writing code. That paid the rent and let him dabble in fiction.

The common theme shared by almost every great writer is perseverance. Refusing to accept denial by traditional publishing and agents, Jason was finally accepted at a publisher that was harnessing the cresting wave of ebooks. That ride, although bumpy, gave him the experience and knowledge necessary to strike out and improve his craft.

Jason now has multiple books out and regularly helps out other budding authors struggling to makes sense of the industry. He's a stickler on editing and professionalism, but also believes wholeheartedly that his readers aren't just customers, they're his friends. He wants to know them and encourages them to visit his website (http://www.booksbyjason.com), his blog (http://booksbyjason.wordpress.com), and even more to email him (jason@booksbyjason.com) so he can interact with them. His books come from his imagination and from his heart, and more than one of his friends has inspired him and shown up for at least a cameo appearance in one of his titles.
