5.0 out of 5 stars Bekka and the vampire. May 22, 2012
By SGL
Format:Kindle Edition
Three of the voidhawks crew on a quest for Bekka, to understand her sorcery. As with any good quest there are multiple dangers. Vampires, undead skeletons, wyvren, feline humans and magical beings. Of course the most dangerous being the beast within and all defeated with understanding, compassion and friendship. The story has the strong character development and clear plotting of the previous novels. I hesitate to say it is just a story to spend more time with a group of characters we've grown to enjoy as it is as much an opportunity for the characters to grow and the story to enlarge without the previously main characters over shadowing them. It like the previous stories is enjoyable and the characters engaging if not endearing. I recommend this book and while it could be read out of sequence the stories are clearly more enjoyable read in order.

Nice that the story can still go on with the key characters being separated.I chose the book because I have grown fond of Jason's style.

yes, I would buy this series again. You need to read the full series from beginning to end to understand it all though.

Thought it was a good read I enjoy his books but bad editing, I've noticed some editing problems in a few of his books but this one was one of the worst so far.

The story was good, though the ending seemed rushed. There were numerous typos and sentence errors that detracted from the book. Seems like in the rush to get this book out they relied solely on "spell check" to catch the errors, rather than someone actually reading the book first. Since "spell check" can be set to ignore all CAPS, one sentence began with the letter H, instead of the word, He. There were many instances where sentences had errors or the sentences were awkward. I'm starting to read the Lost Soul now. Hopefully won't have the same issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twisting ride... June 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book showed what happened to Logan, Bekka and Bailynn after they left the ship. This took on more of similar plot as in the 2nd book. It was exciting to read.

More About the Author

Short version: Jason Halstead is a science fiction and fantasy author who spends his free time with his wife and two children, writing, and powerlifting.

Long version: Jason's always wanted to write, but making a living at it seemed unobtainable. So instead of writing fiction, he turned to writing code. That paid the rent and let him dabble in fiction.

The common theme shared by almost every great writer is perseverance. Refusing to accept denial by traditional publishing and agents, Jason was finally accepted at a publisher that was harnessing the cresting wave of ebooks. That ride, although bumpy, gave him the experience and knowledge necessary to strike out and improve his craft.

Jason now has multiple books out and regularly helps out other budding authors struggling to makes sense of the industry. He's a stickler on editing and professionalism, but also believes wholeheartedly that his readers aren't just customers, they're his friends. He wants to know them and encourages them to visit his website (http://www.booksbyjason.com), his blog (http://booksbyjason.wordpress.com), and even more to email him (jason@booksbyjason.com) so he can interact with them. His books come from his imagination and from his heart, and more than one of his friends has inspired him and shown up for at least a cameo appearance in one of his titles.
