I've seen an excellent test report at Erwin Puts's website regarding the excellent performance of this Voigtlander lens. Without question, its performance is better than vintage 50mm f1.4 Leica Summicron lenses for Leica M rangefinder cameras, but at a fraction of their cost! It is certainly another fine example of the excellent Cosina-built Voigtlander lenses being produced for both screw mount and M-mount rangefinder cameras. Is it better than the latest 50mm f 1.4 Summilux-M ASPH lens? Obviously no, but someone who is interested in getting a fine fast 50mm lens without having to pay an extravagant price might be tempted to buy this lens. Like virtually every Cosina Voigtlander lens, this lens requires a M mount adaptor so that it can be mounted onto M mount rangefinder cameras made by Leica, Konica, and Cosina, including the new Zeiss Ikon rangefinder (It's designed by Zeiss but built by Cosina under Zeiss supervision.).
