Quality ball with good feel,

I bought three of these balls to replace Park & Sun balls that were included with a mini basketball arcade game (that folded up in a cabinet). Anyway, these were just slightly smaller that the ones I was replacing - but these balls still work great. They look good and have a great feel to them - and are fairly bouncy (which is what I wanted with this game).

Our dog prefers that we kick a ball for her to retrieve, as opposed to throwing a ball like a tennis ball.
The problem is finding a ball that will stand up to her teeth and last a while. This basketball is small enough for her mouth and sturdy enough to withstand pucntures.

Good size for a 9" steel rim, and can be dribbled,

I bought this 5.4" diameter ball to pair with my 4-year-old son's new 9-10.25" hoops from JustinTymeSports (which came with smaller 5" balls that we also use), and it works well for that purpose. We have the 9" hoop set up on a small closet door in our tiled foyer, where we can dribble and there isn't too much to worry about knocking down. In my son's upstairs bedroom w/carpet, I prefer foam balls. But among the few available 5.4-5.5 inch rubber basketballs, this one is competitive, in my opinion. While I haven't had it too long, it hasn't yet seemed to leak much air or become egg-shaped, so at this point I'd happily recommend it. It seems a little better than the 5.5" SKLZ XL basketball I also recently purchased, but both are fine.
