This replaces an original I purchased when it first came out. There are some very interesting songs that many people might not be familiar with. I am glad to have this collection back in my music catalog.

There are some great mixes of songs you know and love on these 2 discs...others you haven't heard of will become new favorites. Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" gets just a little extra boost from a heavier and additional beat track. The original is a wonderful classic...this kicks it up just a little more! Also of note are 2 tracks that I think are in German....one by Marianne Rosenberg ("Er Gehort Zu Mir") sounds alot "Never Can Say Goodbye" (and for all I know it may be it in another language) but, nonetheless, it's really upbeat and sensational. The other foreign language track, "Fur Mich Soll's Rote Rosen Regnen" by Hildegard Knef & Extabreit (which I believe translates, with a friend's help, to "For Me It Should Rain Red Roses) is a hoot...lots of rhythm and genre changes...quite a mini-epic...I LIKE IT ALOT. AND, it's the perfect segue to Marc Almond's "Jacky", another sweeping epic of a story/song...it's a real feel good tune...a bit of a techno-toreador-full orchestra theme (you know, everything but the kitchen sink...BUT IT WORKS)! In addition Kelly Marie's "It Feels Like I'm In Love" sounds fresh and new all over again as does Boy George's "Bow Down Mister". My Favorite Track on this album is Lonnie Gordon's "Happenin' All Over Again". This is the album that introduced me to Lonnie Gordon and I love her 1993 disc "Bad Mood" (which you can get pretty inexpensively here on Amazon used!...Check It Out!...u won't regret it). Back to Gay Happening, I see it's pretty expensive here now used but it IS quite a find...I also recommend Gay Happening Volume 2 (which currently starts at only $2.59, used, right here on this site!) Go getcha' self some music!

There are actually three CD's in this collection. I own numbers two and three. Number two is one of my favorite CD's ever. I believe these are imports (Germany) of dance music played in gay clubs. I highly reccommend them. Look for NO. 2 !
