4.0 out of 5 stars high intensity worship, November 27, 2005
This review is from: Vol. 1-Hymns (Audio CD)
Although i don't own the whole cd, i have a compilation cd with two of the songs on it. It has "Nothing but the Blood" which is sung by Mike Lee from the band Barren Cross and "He's got the whole world in his hands" which is sung in part by Jamie Rowe from the band Guardian. This is a must have cd for the lover of rock music and the lover of God.It puts a totally new spin on some standard worship songs that you definately haven't heard in church before. This is one cd that i will definitely add to my collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rare album, but worth the find, December 23, 2003

This review is from: Vol. 1-Hymns (Audio CD)
Even though this album is not largely available anymore (I bought mine used after some time spent searching), its well worth the purchase, whatever the price. This is a compilation of 10 praise songs, but written and performed by rock and metal Christian groups. Such songs as "The Old Rugged Cross," "Holy, Holy, Holy," and "Nothing but the Blood," will have you singing along, or in some cases, shouting! You might even find that you recognize the singer. I believe that the singer of "Nothing but the Blood," and, "When We All Get to Heaven," used to sing for Iron Maiden. What's my favorite songs on the disk? That's hard to say. I like "Holy, Holy, Holy," for its rhythm and the over all feel of the song. I like "When We All Get to Heaven," because it makes me want to get up and dance and shout for the Lord. And I like, "We Need Jesus," for its slower pace but equally worshipful manner. I would highly recommend the album to anyone. And, like I say, even if you have to dig deep in your pocket book, its an investment well spent.

5.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't get any better than this., June 25, 2010
This review is from: Vol. 1-Hymns (Audio CD)
I own the tape (got it when it first came out) and found the CD on Ebay. When it comes to redoing hymns, this is the best CD ever made. Not only does the vocal talent hit hard and clean, the music is well thought out and delivers hard and strong.

I've bought hymn remakes since, and this is by far my favorite album ever. I own I,II, and III.
