5.0 out of 5 stars this is a great cd but for a few exceptions...
this is a must get for a die hard slayer fan.i cant get enough of NOCTURNE's awesome cover of HARDENING OF THE ARTERIES with the vocalists screeching vocals!the only exception i think on this cd is the vocalist from PERVERSERAPH is quite annoying and MESSE NOIR, well they just completely murdered PIECE BY PIECE, dug it up again and killed it again

This cd is so great! it opens all the doors to the underground talent that needs to be recognized!

1. Perverseraph - Chemical Warfare. Great song, i know the production wasnt the best but its really good

2. Angel Corpse - Kill Again - ...this is so close to the original its perfect.these guys deserve to be checked out. very fast technical death metal

3. Sanctorum - Evil Has No Boundaries - The drumming is so prefect in this song. good listen. it sucks these guys broke up. but the drummer has 2 new bands you should check out Myth (viking metal), and Black Trinity

4. Hate - Post Mortem - Great Swedish band covering a great song! nothing else to say

5. Nocturne(now Nokturne) - Hardening Of The Arteries - This so hardcore its awesome! The vocalist has one of the best screams i have ever heard.

6. Incantation - Hell Awaits - Probaly one of the best points of this album. Nothing shorter than arse kicking death metal

7. Black Witchery - Fight Till Death - THese guys are supreme black metal, great cover

8. Abigor - Crionics - Pretty good, nothing rong with it. i love just how melodic this song is

9. Equinox - Haunting the chapel - This song is awesome.awesome cover too, the bass in this song is killer

10. The Chasm - Metalstorm/Face the slayer - Easily one of the best moments on this cd. Great awesome cover

11. Thy Infernal - Black Majic - Awesome, i love how fast and intense this song is

12 Mystifier - Tormentor - PRetty good cover cept for in the middle they slow it down, awesome high note!

13. Cephalic Carnage - Jesus Saves - Awesome cover done by pot heads

14. Enter Self - Mandatory Suicide - The best cover of mandatory suicide i have ever heard.awesome vocals

15. Messe Noir - Piece by Piece - ok, this is probaly the lowest point on the album but it still rulz. i like just how the band put it into their own perspective

Overall great album. great piece of art to those who like death metal. buy this if you like death metal or you are ok with the vocals cus if not you will probaly be disappointed. great listen

Yep, you guessed it...ANOTHER DWELL TRIBUTE ALBUM! Come on, don't look so surprised; these compilations are Dwell's `bread & butter', get used to it already. Every one of these tribute discs is a veritable treasure map; you've got to do a lot of digging to find the good stuff! This disc is no exception, although it is a This concoction of Slayer tidbits tends to focus largely, if not solely on their vintage materials prior to 1990, so the hardcore Slayer addict may find this one a little more swallowable. While not wishing to focus my attentions on the mediocre, I'll give you the skinny on the truly high and terribly low points on the disc. Leading off with PERVERSERAPH's low-budget, MARDUK-like rendition of "Chemical Warfare" is Mistake Number One, but it makes the very choice Track 2 (ANGEL CORPSE's "Kill Again") come off as greater than it already is! Swedish band HATE's take on "Post Mortem" is a little nugget of joy, also. Unforgivable, however, is NOCTURNE's murky butchery of my favorite Slayer track "Hardening Of The Arteries"! Again, pitting that directly before INCANTATION's run with "Hell Awaits" gives the latter an extra dose of memorability. ENTER SELF's "Mandatory Suicide" is laughable, and closing the disc with that damned MESSE NOIR (why does that band still exist???) murdering "Piece By Piece" just leaves a foul taste on my palate. Again, since many of today's Death Metal bands were heavily influenced by Slayer, a majority of tracks on Gateway To Hell 2 remain faithful to the originals (with the exception of the vocals...of course)! On the whole, the production quality of many of these tracks is much better than previous tribute albums, so somebody must have spent their money wisely. So, in conclusion, INCANTATION, HATE, ANGEL CORPSE - good; NOCTURNE, PERVERSERAPH, MESSE NOIR - bad! This ends the lesson for today.

While the first cd amazed me, very few people enjoyed it like this cd. The cd was alright but wasnt good as the first one. Where is Reign in Blood? Anther cool thing about the first cd was they idea the band memebers, a picture, and a short bio on them. This cd does have a picture of the band, but thats about it. I wish they did it like they did on the first cd. A great cd but not as good as the first cd.
