not your typical nude, but sexy nonetheless,

i hear a lot of people slagging this album for not living up to the precedent set by volumes 1 & 2.there's even a paragraph on the inside cover explaining to the buyer that the label still wanted to keep the sexy feel of naked stuff but expanding and introducing some funky breaks with some new deep tunes.admittedly nothing will ever touch volume one in my eyes but i'm a true fan of this label, this kind of music and labels that aren't afraid to explore new genres and open up the minds of future fans.the album is worth buying, for track three alone, central living's,"every day" mixed by miguel "can't do any wrong" migs with lisa shaws,as always gorgeous vocals.last time i saw miguel in town i went up to him after one of his sets and personally thanked him for it.sure i would have dug nothing more than another dose of ridiculously deep sexy house from the naked gang, but as a true fan of electronic music, much praise to them for showing the dance industry that you don't have to put out the same stuff all the time just to sell albums or keep a fanbase, these cats are innovators plain and simple, and i'll stand proudly behind ALL their releases.word 'em up.

It's OK - but disapointing none the less...,

I am a huge fan of Nude Dimensions volumes 1 & 2 - and anticipated that nothing but great things could come from a third installment. However, from the moment I saw this disc, I suspected that something had changed. No beautiful slipcover. Art that was nice but not nearly as great as the art that graced the first two editions. No DJ noted on the cover. A quick review of the track listing seemed very much in line with the first two editions - Lisa Shaw , Blue Six, amd Migs all represented in the lineup - so I felt a bit reassured. Then I put the disc in.To be fair, the disc is not terrible. But it is also not a Nude Dimensions set. The first two editions had a smooth, danceable r & b flavor. And this disc, while still house, has a completely different, less focused sound. The one song I thought would be a sure thing was Central Living's "Everyday." Naked Music NYC plays a loop of this track on their website - and the loop has a very Nude Dimensions sound. Unfortunately, the producers of this disc went with a different mix. The result is adequate - but the sound - well, its just not Nude Dimensions. As for the rest of the lineup, nothing comes close to the highlights from the first two volumes. Tracks like "Always," "Pure," "Breakin' it Down" and "That's Why I'm Here" are nowhere to be found on this edition. The real test : if this were volume 1, would there have been a volume 2 and 3? The answer, I believe, is no. This disc really isn't special enough to warrant more.

Keeping the nude vibe...,

Rain starts th CD off sounding like the last two compilations, but this one wanted to stray....If you read inside the Cd it says that Naked Music wanted to experiment a bit with this volume. They wanted to use more percussion, and different beats from around the deep house dance globe. What results is same Naked Music, keeping up with the latest music trends. That's what DJ's do best: experiment and come up with awesome sounds that we can chill to. Favorite tracks: Rain, Everyday and Step into the light. Just a reminder, buy the previous volumes and you won't be sorry.

Hmmm...let me see. Nude Dimensions, Volume 3. No it's not like its predecessors, yes the coverart is different, but is the music excellent? YES IT IS! Right from the beginning with Rain, you can picture the droplets hitting a serene and misty pond. You then move onto Don't Stop with it's "Tom-Tom" beats and it just keeps getting better. It is an eclectic series because each set is DIFFERENT. Each set, in this series, requires you to listen again and again. There is always something new to discover with each listen, and Volume 3 does not disappoint. I play it over and over and the things I hear, like the last tune which uses a banjo, and the feelings they evoke is something I have not been feeling in music for a while. Thank you Bruno Ybarra and company. Keep the "music" coming. I certainly appreciate it.

Naked Music continues to deliver the goods,

Naked Music's "Nude Dimensions III" (ND3) gave me goosebumps the first time I listened to it. Initially hesitant on an immediate purchase by some of the mixed reviews on this website, I decided to finally just jump in and buy it to see whether or not the negativity about this mix held any water. I'm happy to report that this mix is representative of the true house/soul sound, and while it may not be as uptempo and disco as some of the other Naked Music mixes, ND3 delivers an exceptionally soulful mix of high-grade music.Listeners who are new to house or whose primary exposure has been from Naked Music may want to dig back into this genre's history to see where it all started. That's not to belittle what Naked Music has done... I still think they put out some of the best *music* of all the dance labels; tracks that can stand alone on their own merit, and it's fantastic to see them branching out and touching on genres that were absent from previous mixes. It keeps the mix fresh throughout, as opposed to hearing the same beat and same type of music the whole way through. This is one of the few CDs that I've listened to recently that held my attention throughout its entirety. Soul Patrol's "Keep It Country" contains euphoric undertones and exceptionally well-placed samples, melting gracefully into the Weekender Mix of Jersey Street's "Step Into The Light", which is a song that's quite representative of what has become referred to as the Naked Sound. Sleek disco house with soulful vocals, fantastic basswork, synths that seem to float out of a dream, and percussive layers that keep you moving. Even tracks with varied percussion, like the Speakeasy Remix of Aquanote's "Nowhere" or The Lucky Ones' "Ever After Love (Love Beats)" maintain and build the sensually dreamy Naked vibe that you crave, perfect for late night between-the-sheets groovin'. Stellar. And then Miguel Migs steps in with his "Blue Six Tribute", which absolutely brings this mix to a head. Listen to that opening bassline that just wants to rip through your very being, contrasting so beautifully with the delicate synths. Paulo Rocha's "Dreamwalker" just builds on the foundation that Migs sets and continues to push the mix where you want it to go. Satin Souls' "Recover" contains cool and nostalgic samples mixed with subtle, siren-like vocals... felt like I was being transported back to the early and mid 90's. Surprisingly, the mix doesn't slow down from this point forward, and caps the whole experience with the lovely Petalpusher Remix of Blue Six's classic "Love Yourself". Naked Music has definitely taken a step forward with this mix, showing a maturation of their material, requiring a more open mind from its listener, unearthing some true house and soul gems, and keeping the mix 100% fresh throughout. That's what I liked about Miguel Migs' "Nude Tempo One" -- he took you through different styles of house so that the entire album felt like it took you from the club to the crib to the morning after, leaving you breathless, longing for that perfect sunrise after a perfect, sleepless night. Naked Music definitely has their work cut out for them if they're going to continue evolving what they do, but they make it look so darn easy that at this point, there isn't much doubt in this fan's mind. Keep it up, Naked Music... the dancefloor's a better place because of you.

I have read alot of people bagging this album saying that it does not reach the standards of nude dimentions 1&2, in my opinion this album takes the definition of "house music" to another level. Its deep sexy funky grooves makes this album a must have from the naked music label witch is undoubtedly the best label in house music today!!!

Naked Heaven!,

This review is from: Vol. 3-Nude Dimensions (Audio CD)
I was recently moved to write in a review after reading the varied responses to the mix listed on cd now ... I have listened to this disc countless times and have yet to find any flaws in it, whatsoever. The music is spectacular and continually evolves as you move through the mix ... the rhythms are varied (to keep things interesting) and the track selection and mix are heavenly. Granted, this isn't your standard 'four on the floor' mix that only works in a club ... if I wanted club music then I would go there - however, for LISTENING, it doesn't get any better. Isn't that what a cd is for? This mix truly captures the essence of all the beauty and flavor that can be found in the underground scene today - it's all about the vibe! For those who like their music varied and high quality, you will not be disappointed. Props to Naked for keeping it real!

My favorite Naked CD of all,
By A Customer
This review is from: Vol. 3-Nude Dimensions (Audio CD)
About my only dislike with any of the other Naked CD's and I have all of them, is the occaisional diva, or over the top soul infusion. My only complaint with this one is that girls foot looks broken on the cover, ouch. But I know that a lot of people who like these CDs as much as I do, like them because of the vocals, so I can see why so many of them are disappointed by this release. But you can't say they don't know what they're doing because there is an increasing amount of jazzy/funky/house/no vocals coming out, thankfully, and this is of the best. My favorite other Naked CDs are Nude Dimensions 2 and Carte Blanche 2, so this is along the same lines as those, the only difference is way less vocals. One man's garbage is another mans treasure, sorry to all that were disappointed, nice surprise for me.
