Biography

The Grateful Dead were a US psychedelic folk rock band led by Jerry Garcia. They were one of the cornerstones of 60’s counterculture.

Their career commenced in the spiritual home of the hippy, Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco. They evolved from a band called The Warlocks, one of the bands to regularly play at Ken Kesey’s acid tests, where people would gather to tune in, turn on and drop out. 5.0 out of 5 stars IMPORTANT TO BUYERS, December 24, 1999
By
This review is from: Vol. 7-Dick's Picks (Audio CD)
This is an amazing CD, a great pick. Two things potential buyers should know however, first, this album is not an "import". It is manufactured and sold by Grateful Dead merchandising inc. and so paying an "import" price is absurd. Second, this CD is not a complete show, it is bits and pieces from three different shows in London. Still an awesome album however!

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best Dick's Picks, September 6, 1999
This review is from: Vol. 7-Dick's Picks (Audio CD)
the lead in's on cd's two and three are amazing. Dark Star is better on the CD "Live Dead" but this is one of the best Stella Blue's i've ever heard. This is definately one of the best Dick's Picks. As an ever-faithful dead head, i definately recommend this CD
