Damien Rice has created a new sound and a new type of music. When I first heard this album, which is dramatic and bitter-sweet yet creates in the listener an unquechable need to hear it again and again, I listened to it for months and never tired of it. Each song stands alone as small masterpieces of music and poetical lyrics. This is a must-have powerful album by a creative genius.

I admit it. 'Volcano' drew me to this cd but the rest of Rice's songs have such amazing strength and depth, I love them all. It's cliche, but his music is perfect to play on a rainy day.

What a fantastic album, I bought it on the strength of "volcano" and love it for so many of the tracks. The cello gives so much emotion to the songs you really "feel" this music. What more can I say, I love it. So different from anything else Damien Rice has done.
