No model in the entire Unlimited series has seen more improvements than the AC30. With its new, wider sidecut (124_80_107), it now performs significantly better in the backcountry.Volkl's engineers didn't stop at widening the ski body though: they also tinkered with the ski binding to "kick it into another gear". Just like the AC50, the AC30 now features the award-winning iPT Wideride binding, specially created for medium-width all-terrain ski models. It stands out for excellent energy transfer and lends the AC30 a high degree of ability.

PROS
Smooth and stable at highway speeds. Even in crudy or thick choppy snow. I was amazed how composed it was arcing turns across the worst kinds of snow.
Fairly maneuverable for it's width and bulk.
Great edge hold for a widish ski.
Good float in the deeper snow.

CONS
Not quite as quick turning as real frontside skis.
Not quite as floaty as real powder skis.

I had chance to ski the AC50s recently as well and thought the 30s were nearly as stable as the 50s but much more nimble at slower speeds. A really nice ski
