For over two decades, numerous campaigns, serving as the Director of the country's premier volunteer agency, the United States Peace Corps, and today, serving in the United States Senate, volunteers have been the cornerstone of our successes. Jo Rusin appears to capture what it takes to make a volunteer program work. Her book is an excellent primer for those who oversee volunteer organizations, as well as for those stewards who give so unselfishly of their time and talent. -- Paul D. Coverdell, United States Senator--Georgia, Former Director of the United States Peace Corps
