The Charmed Ones encounter voodoo in New Orleans.,
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell are headed off to New Orleans for a much needed vacation. They're ready to take a break from fighting evil and just kick back, relax, and have fun. Their vacation hasn't started off very well - Prue nearly misses the flight, and they arrive in New Orleans to find that their hotel reservations have vanished, and every hotel in town is booked due to a convention. But a woman they met at the airport finds them rooms at a charming plantation house in the countryside that has been converted into a bed and breakfast. Weird happenings, Phoebe's mysterious illness, shady characters, and the disapearance of a new friend are only some of the things that happen to them there. The sisters don't want to believe in voodoo, even though they themselves are witches. But they have to believe in it if they are going to fight it. This was a great Charmed book. Like Whispers From the Past, I especially enjoyed the fact that it had, for most of the book, a very different setting from that we see on the show. Also there were some great plot twists that I never saw coming. This was an all-around great summer read for Charmed fans.

Intense as a Journey,
By Petra Waser (Switzerland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
I admit it, I just love the tv series and its characters. But even complete novices to the world of Prue, Phoebe and Piper will love this journey to the bayous of Louisiana. Voodoo, Wicca and The Power Of Three... set in a beautiful scenery described so lively that you can almost feel the damp air of the swamps... plus characters that come to live - what more can you wish for? More books like this, maybe!

An exciting book!!!!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
I am a big fan of Charmed, and have all the books. I especially like "Voodo Moon" because you can never predict what is to happen next. The book's plot is basically about the 3 sisters going on holiday, and they meet a woman at the airport who is about to take Prue's seat on the plane. Well, the sisters become friends with her, only to find out that she is turning people into zombies, including her sister, by a voodoo incantation. She manages to turn on of the sisters into a zombie aswell, (not revealing who!) and the sisters are put up against the strongest dark magic of all. I enjoyed this book, but maybe people who are not fans of charmed would find this a bit confusing. Have a good read!!!!!!

A Vacation of Zombies and Voodoo!,
By nikita "nikita" (Fairfield County, CT, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
Prue, Piper and Phoebe go to New Orleans, The Big Easy, for their vacation. As events go on, voodoo is mentioned more and more so it feels like you know everything about it. There are two loas mentioned: the Rada loa, which is good, and the Petro loa, which is evil. Helene and Phoebe get turned into zombies, and Yvonne and Randy rescued them all. This book reminds me of "Scooby Doo on Zombie Island" on Cartoon Network.

a nice vacation in new orleans,
By tammy (chicago, il United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
the 3 haliwell sisters are looking forward to their trip to neworleans. but something sinister seems to happen from the beginning. prue nearly misses the flight, they have no hotel reservations, and all the hotels are booked. when a young woman offers them rooms at a country hotel that is just outside of new orleans, this seems like the ideal place. but from the beginning, evil lurks around every corner. the charmed ones find that they can run but they can't hide as they deal with old black magic in the heart of the voodoo capital. this book is quite good and definitely a must for all charmed fans.

One of the better Charmed novels.,
By
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
One of the things that makes this novel stand out is the change in locale, as the Halliwell sisters travel to New Orleans on vacation. The inclusion of voodoo gives the story a different spin than the usual Warlocks and Demons that The Charmed Ones usually face, also they solve their problems without the Book of Shadows for a change (they left it at home). Being a young adult novel, the story doesn't get too complicated but it does manage to keep your attention and even throws in a couple of twists. For those who watch the series, the story seems to be placed in the first season as we see that Piper is still a chef and Prue works at Buckland's, the auction house.

Voodoo, loas, bayous, zombies and untrustworthy characters!!!,
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Charmed) (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book alot, simply because it is different in the sense that there are not the usual warlocks or demons or other sinister perils that plague the Charmed Ones. It's about voodoo, though, initially, they sort of think voodoo is all a piece of trickery, and did not give it much thought, only when mysterious things happen to them, such as, discordant drumbeats being played in the middle of the night, strange symbols appearing around them, Phoebe's sudden so-called illness, and a visit to the voodoo museum, do the Charmed ones realize that they have underestimated voodoo in general.
The only thing reasonably creepy about this book is whenever the Petro Loa ritual (black magic voodoo) takes place, as Wendy Staub does a good job portraying the evil grotesque scenes which is discriptive enough for one to envision the evil rituals in their head. Very realistically written, you could amonst feel the sisters' apprehension, need to help and determination. But since this is a fantasy story, I suppose it wouldn't be necessary to compare what you read in non-fiction books to creativity and imagination. There are a great number of excellent twists and turns which I never expected, making it all the more enjoyable to read. Fans of Charmed will no doubt enjoy Voodoo moon. Recommended!!

Great Book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Voodoo Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is soo good. It's about the Charmed ones when they go on vacation to New Orleans and stay at an old plantation home. The girls know somethings going on with the dark practice of voodoo. Only they don't know there's good and bad voodoo. I don't want to ruin the end for you so read it should defianetely read it for yourself. I read it by swopping books with a friend and I liked it so much I bought it. This is a must buy.
