if you havent seen them live...wow, August 30, 2005
This review is from: Voodoo for Fun & Profit (Audio CD)
alston came through charleston,sc one nite opening for five bolt main, and although i was unable to catch thier whole set,i witnessed their lead guitarist shred it for one cut and then i was bombarded by frineds of mine telliing me how good they were live.i bought the cd immeaditely and it hasnt left our dorm stereo since.kobie jackson handles lead vocal duties, putting his bass playing days of primer 55 behind him.thier lead guitarist is incredible.sooo much skilll.the band has the ability to write a catchy rock song with a fantastic solo thrown in for good measure.they also can mellow down and kobie uses different deliveries on his vocals.they are super nice and down to earth guys too,if you get the chance to check them out do yourself a favor and meet them too they are awesome by and by.

Voodoo Me Baby!, May 6, 2005
This review is from: Voodoo for Fun & Profit (Audio CD)
The best album to date of 2005. This is Day 15 of sweet addiction to Voodoo.
Alston is Alex Cando-Bass Kobie Jackson-Vocals,Guitars Ron Paige-Guitars,Vocals Woody Wurzburg-Drums,Percussion
Recon Seed - Whoa. I love the production of this number. Unusual effects in a beat that starts off soft at first and then BAM in your face comes this secondary intro that will pick you up like a snow plow and take you flying down the road.
Anna - It sticks in your head. You get quick snappy intro lyrics and then it just takes of rockin' with a rhythm you can dance or bang your head with.
Ordinary - is anything but. Kobie's plush vocals and the key in which this song is done are gorgeous.
Rock Star - Solid rock track and the tongue in cheek honesty about the male ego is refreshing and made me grin.
Why We Fight - has a great hook and I love the way the vocals alternate between the water effects and then break through crisp and clean. Simple yet wise lyrics. These guys are cool.
Gold Guitar - Wow, this song really shows off the versatility the fellas have in their style and composition. A great story told bard style.
Orange freeze is another jewel on this disc. These dudes know how to rock and it is so pleasing to hear an album that showcases a band's versatility and flair.
Rebel Yell - That's right and they did more than pull it off.
Carried Away just came on and I love this 'Punch in the face'.
2 and 10 low just came on and you gotta hear how it Rocks. I mean full bore -no bones about it- right out the blazing door, baby! Paige commands the tapestry on this track and his talent is exceptional. His backup vocals are lovely. Sweet harmonies on this one.
What I love about the way Jackson writes is that the lyrics ride on the melody in perfect balance. And there's more. Wait till you get to the Voodoo. Very Cool. Very Intimate. That's all I'm saying - go out and get your own black magic. His voice has a way of caressing you.
I love this band. I love Kobie. I love Voodoo For Fun And Profit.
Buy the CD and hear for yourself, better yet go to their show when they hit your town. Treat yourself.
