5.0 out of 5 stars The hot single of the summer
1. Amber is a fantastic song writer (dance or otherwise)
2. Vocals are perfect for this song - she's spot on with her style!

1.0 out of 5 stars Will VOODOO bring Amber back from the dead?
This Song is really not that good and the remixes really dont cut it. Someone needs to perform a voodoo spell to bring Amber's career back from the dead. True, this song is not as horrible as the last release. Amber will have to try harder than this if she wants to have another hit single.

5. As an independant artist, she still has her finger on the pulse of the dance culture of today - which is getting harder to do - but Miss Amber does it well.

The original mix is fab, the otheer mixes are superb, but the UGLY DOLL remix is SMOKING HOT!

This CD is well worth the minimal purchase price [...]

5.0 out of 5 stars A 'dance' artist with an edge..., June 22, 2005
By
This review is from: Voodoo Remixes (Audio CD)
Who woulda thought a 'dance' artist could have soul and depth? Amber is indeed a rare find. She started her career with the club banger 'This is your night' and has evolved into an artist with depth, soul and a serious edge. The beats are great, but that's just the surface. The original version of VOODOO is awesome, but the mixes are even better. The most pleasant surprise here is the Sweetrains remix, which is a tornado of hard beats and frantic rhythms. By the end of the cd, the Ugly Doll Mix and the Zen Club Mix offer a welcome change of pace from the rough-edged earlier reworkings. The Ugly Doll Mix is poppy, while the Zen Club Mix is soothing, trance track. Overall, a great and worthwhile buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's all about the Ugly Doll Mix!, June 22, 2005

Of all the remixes of the second single from Amber's latest album, the Ugly Doll Club Mix is the one that really pumps you up with its bouncy and throbbing electro beat. Who needs coffee or Red Bull when you got this? My only complaint is that this mix ought to be the first track kicking off this CD single (it's track 7 here). But it's not meant to insult the other remixes...the Kriya vs Velez remix is a nice tribal take of the song, and the Mike Cruz Vox Mix goes over similar territory but adds some extra circuit touches as well. Anyhow, here's to Amber and producer/remixer Wolfram Dettki for a job well done on that Ugly Doll remix!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, unexplainable Voodoo, June 21, 2005

This is one of the best songs off of Amber's new full-length CD "My Kind of World." If you've loved Amber's past hits, you're going to love this one too. It's sexy and mysterious, with great lyrics and an infectious beat. Listen once, you'll be intrigued. Listen twice, you're hooked. The single contains the original album version, as well as seven more (yes, seven!) amazing mixes that bring this song to the dance floor, yet remain true to the feel and vibe of the original. The Kriya vs. Velez mix, which is getting a ton of satellite and internet radio play, is a tight dance track. The Ugly Doll and Sweetrains mixes are amazing as well, and the Zen Club mix gives the track a whole new spin. Pick this one up now -- it's headed to #1!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Summer Anthem!, June 21, 2005
This review is from: Voodoo Remixes (Audio CD)
This is Amber's second single off her album "My Kind of World". I am enjoying this song much more than the last single "You Move Me" it has a more club friendly sound.

This CD is great buy, you get 5 remixes, 2 radio edits and the original version (which is way more than most dance singles these days). The two standout mixes are the Ugly Doll club mix which has a euro dance feel and the Mike Cruz Vox Mix which is a straight-up house anthem. Also, the Zen Club Mix has summery disco vibe.

Intelligent lyrics and great remixes make this a standout dance single for the summer!
