5.0 out of 5 stars R.I.P. , one of the best death bands ever!!, June 15, 2005
This review is from: Voracious Contempt (Audio CD)
It's a travesty that an unbeleivable death metal band like this was morphed into nothing more than a tough guy hardcore band (Onward to Mecca). This is easily one of my top 5 favorite death metal releases ever created, with better production (kinda sounds like they recorded it in a huge tin can) it might have gotten a top 2 of all time (behind Pierced from Within - Suffocation). Spawned from the same New York death metal scene of the early 90's alongside pioneers Suffocation, and Immolation these guys helped to create Florida's main rival for who held the cream of the crop of death metal bands. One reason I prefered the NY scene is the influx of the slow, chugging, mosh friendly breakdowns, and these guys were the masters. Every track on here will have you headbanging like there is no tomorrow, and looking for someone to slam into. These guys were very compitent musicians, Chris Pervelis is one of the best at writing simple yet complex riffs, the bassist laid down the super heavy lines that will stick in your head for days, the drummer was superb, and best of all they had Frank Rini on vocals and this guy was blessed. One of the lowest yet intelligable death metal vocalists I have ever heard, man this dude had some lungs on him (check out when he holds his growl for like 15 seconds between tracks 4-5) absolutely sick, after the 2nd album and his departure I.B. was never the same. I was extremely lucky to see this lineup on this album tour (dated myself there) and it was still to this day one of the greatest live experiences I have ever seen. As far as the album itself you don't need to look any further than Anointed in Servitude for the brutal groove onslaught that made these guys an underground classic, other tracks that rule are Inhuman Suffering, and God of Subservience which has a great into bit of Robert DeNiro from The Untouchables. In short this album may be extremely hard to find but if you can get your hands on it, and you are a fan of Suffocation, Deeds of Flesh, or death metal in general I don't think there is any way you can't love this album. Very highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Possibly their best, February 13, 2003

First- I know some of my buddies didn't agree, but to me
this is definetly the most innovative death metal bands
to come out of Long Island since Suffocation and Pyrexia.
This contains some of their best work to date. If you enjoy a
little bit of groove to your death metal without all the self
indulgent soloing and noodling this is your band. My only real
problem with this effert is I thought their guitar tone was a
little too treble heavy otherwise cool cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Groundbreaking effort, February 15, 1999
By A Customer

One of a hanful of certified classics, this LP forever changed deathmetal, and spawned a countless number of similar sounding bands, all trying to copy Internal Bleeding's patented sludge filled riff-o-mania.
