PROS: Definitely a must-have for machine and woodworking shops. Surfaces are made so you can easily wipe off saw dust. You can take it apart and snap the pieces back together after cleaning. Small footprint makes it ideal for moving a lot of air but with little space. Nice heavy insulated power cord with ground pin, making it good for dirty environments.

CONS: Relatively expensive. If you have enough space, a $10 box fan will do the same thing. Some of the plastic pieces that snap on/off for cleaning seem flimsy and easily breakable.

I bought this for my garage shop and it works well. Solid construction, stable platform, good circulation, easy cord storage.

No, this is not huge contractor fan, but it has enough power to circulate fresh air throughout my two car detached garage/shop.

Recommended buy.

The reason I gave this a 4 stars was just because this fan's power was not as strong as i expected from it's series. However, we loved the padded handle on top for ease of moving the fan around. It's sturdy and very quiet.

The Vornado brade of fans is one of the best around. The one that we had finally gave up the ghost after 10 Years. So if you want a fan that will cool more than a single room, BUY this brand.

Was looking for a good Air Mover to help while doing home projects in closed environments. Need to be kept cool. The Vornado is light and good quality but it's air volume is lacking. We have an old 3 speed 16" desk fan that is starting to fail and it moves more air the Vornado. This fan is a just OK fan and does produce a direct air stream. It really doesn't seem to be an air circulator. If you need a good Air mover try Northern Tool. If you need a niche home air mover this Vornado does OK.

I would higly recommend this fan. It is very powerful, has just the right settings and controls, and is very quiet.

I purchased this fan about a year ago. I'm the type who likes to buy the highest quality I can afford. I was fooled by the claims made by the fans manufacturers as pertaining to its performance. It is advertised as a shop fan, but it is the least powerful "shop fan" I have ever seen. Considering its price I had expected a big bang from this small fan. It left me with a sick feeling in my stomach after turning it on high. At the approach of another Florida summer I decided to purchase a larger fan that would actually circulate the air in my workplace. I left a national home improvement chain with a 20" high velocity fan that I paid $38 for. There is no comparison. The Vornado may have some aerodynamic qualities that make it more efficient, but for its price I could have bought two of the fans I purchased today, still had $15 dollars left over, and had over 18,000 cubic feet per minute circulating in my workplace. I think I will use the Vornado in my house where its quiet operation will be more appreciated. I will never buy anything from this company again. It is quite possibly the most wasteful expenditure of money in the outfitting of my shop. The only good things I can say about it are as follows: very quiet operation; ease of assembly; and a long cord with a place to wrap it up.

I purchased a Vornado model 610 fan 3 years ago and it is performing very well. Therefore, when I needed another fan I purchased this fan thinking it would be more powerful than the 610 model. This fan has 1550RPM air control, but seems to be about the same as my lower priced fan. I am very pleased with this fan, but expected more power for the price compared to the 610 model. Nevertheless, it is well built, has a very good comfort grip handle, a 10 foot cord and the ball-bearing motor is very quiet for the air flow produced. Vornado quality is impressive.

I own a couple Vornados and am definitely addicted. So when I saw color from the ususaly B&W folks at Vornado I had to buy. This thing looks neat and it arrived in fine condition. The padded handle, the fat pipe base, the long grounded cord and a place to store the extra. I like it and I like that it's made in the US and has a lifetime warranty. Way to go Vornado!

I flat out love this fan. It moves alot of air and is really quiet. The fan is rugged and survives my construction sites & the inside of my work van.
