5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Best Fan On The Market!
This product is, by far, the best fan on the market. I have tried other, less expensive brands, some which even looked similar and proclaimed to be air circulators as well, but none even came close to doing the job this Vornado does. True to its claim, it is not merely a fan, but a true air circulator. It is every bit as effective as a great ceiling fan, only portable...

3.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but perhaps worth the price
I was very hesitant to shell out sixty bucks for a small table fan, but after going through five traditional fans of varying sizes and prices, and having to return all of them because they were either too loud or too flimsy (or both), I caved in and bought this Vornado.

The amount of air this fan is capable of moving is impressive considering its size. It...

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Best Fan On The Market!, April 21, 2001
This review is from: Vornado 610W Performer Air Circulator (Kitchen)
This product is, by far, the best fan on the market. I have tried other, less expensive brands, some which even looked similar and proclaimed to be air circulators as well, but none even came close to doing the job this Vornado does. True to its claim, it is not merely a fan, but a true air circulator. It is every bit as effective as a great ceiling fan, only portable to boot. Mine has been running in the hot Texas summer for three years straight without a hitch. It is great in the winter too for circulating heated air. You cannot go wrong with this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you sleep with a fan..., January 29, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Vornado 610W Performer Air Circulator (Kitchen)
If you sleep with a fan and have used inexpensive fans before, you know how annoying it is when they develop the irregular popping, grinding, or clicking sound in the middle of the night. You don't want to turn it off because you'll be hot, but the sound becomes more and more magnified. Click. Click. Click. Maddening.

This fan will not do that ever. It is a workhorse and circulates air unbelievably well. Most importantly, mine (2 years +) has never made a noise other than its pleasant normal regular hum. If you, like me, must sleep with fan noise, there is no other choice. Most ceiling fans can't even do this. The best!

5.0 out of 5 stars ACTUALLY DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO!, November 28, 2002
By

This review is from: Vornado 610W Performer Air Circulator (Kitchen)
We have a 65 year-old home with poor circulation in the 2 upstairs bedrooms; they're always 5 degrees warmer in the summer and 5 degrees colder in the winter than the rest of the house. A heating and cooling company was going to charge almost $1,000 to put booster fans in the ductwork. Out of desperation (and I'm a cheapskate also) I bought 2 of these 610W Vornados, and placed them over the floor ducts, and Viola', it fixed the problem (3 degrees better, anyways).
My Mom has had the 500 series fan for about 10 years, but it doesn't circulate nearly as much air, and the bearings don't have a lifetime guarantee like the 610W, and, sure enough, they finally failed this past summer... So the 610W is well worth the extra $15 or $20 bucks to get better airflow and lifetime bearings.
Our rooms are 12' x 12', and this fan does a great job; I suspect that, if you have a larger room, the 750 series would do a better job than this one.
Another side benefit of the 610W is just enough background hum with the fan running (24/7 in our home)to block out the constant traffic noise from the major highway we live off of: the kids sleep much better now. This is truly a great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Vornado 610W Air Circulator - Best fan I have ever had!, September 15, 2001

I have had this fan since April, couldn't have lived without it. I have slept with the fan blowing me on low the whole summer, because the Vornado low setting was as strong as my last fan's high setting, that's scary.

I like the subtle quiet hum the fan gives off as a noise, not distracting at all, I have the fan 6 feet away from me and I still sleep like a baby. So get this fan--it is the most durable sleekest best "coolest" fan on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars fans are divine!! don't you know!, November 10, 2003
This review is from: Vornado 610W Performer Air Circulator (Kitchen)
And not just for Summer! Fans are great ways to circulate heat in your home in Winter. Heat tends to pool in certain areas, these are great for putting them near a heat source and sending the heat elsewhere. I notice when I turn off the fan, the house temperatures will drop!

Besides, to me, a person who has trouble sleeping, their soothing HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM is perfect white noise. So I use fans all year long. I know many Winter "Closet Fan Owners" who do the same.

This one is a super air mover and great for the Winter us. It moves air, without too much noise and it small enough to put there where you need them. In Summer, again, even with air conditioning, I use them to direct the air flow. As with the heat, you get a good air current going and your tempers will go up with heat, go down with air conditioning.

I have had this one several years and it is reliable and just want I need for all-season use.

A reliable fan at a good price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes they DO build 'em like they used to, October 9, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Vornado 610W Performer Air Circulator (Kitchen)
I often wondered why these Vornado fans were priced so high compared to similar-looking fans on the market. After my last other-brand fan died after just a year, I finally decided to spend the money and give one of these a try. Despite a lighter wallet, this fan truly does everything claimed to do. I use it to move air from my living room to my balcony, which it does amazingly well. Even from 25 feet away, I can still feel a strong breeze from it, even on low. As promoted, it does produce a very long and narrow beam of air, which makes a huge difference on my balcony. I've tried using large box fans before and a quick side-by-side comparison had this little fan pushing more air on its lowest setting than the box fan ever did on high. Ever since I started using this fan, I've stopped using my ceiling fans and no longer need to use the AC as much. I'm curious to see how it'll work in the wintertime, but I imagine it'll probably move the warm air just as well as it does cool air.

The fan itself is amazingly small and well-built, despite being totally encased in plastic. The motor is quite large, especially for a fan of this size, making me think that this is one of the few products made today which was meant to last. There's a lifetime warranty, but with the thoughtful design and large motor, I have a feeling I might make a claim...in 30 or so years. It isn't the quietest fan I've ever heard, but it is relatively quiet. It's quiet enough to listen to the radio with on all but the highest setting. Even then, it's still quieter than the box fans.

Overall, if you're looking for a fan, get this one. The price is steep, but it's worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do I say "Fan-tastic" or just...cool?, May 10, 2004
This review is from: Vornado 610W Performer Air Circulator (Kitchen)
Ok, ok, enough of the clever banter. I like this fan a lot--got one here and I couldn't be more pleased. I use this for cooling the bedroom or office upstairs, because the AC in summer just can't compete with the Delmarva sun and lack of trees in our area. It's relatively quiet for the amount of air it moves--"Vornado" is a really good name for the vortex movement and torrent of air moved by the deep chassis design of this fan.

I had one of those fans on a stand that move around, but this actually seems to move more air, amazingly enough. I've had no trouble with long hours of use, and the design is simple and unobtrusive. If you are a fresh air fiend like me, you'll be pleased. I was, and am.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very effective air circulator, April 9, 2001

My girlfriend uses the compact Vornado 610W to cool our loft bed in the winter. This unit clears out hot, stuffy air trapped in the ceiling and circulates fresh, cool air from below. The lowest motor setting is quiet and sufficient to the task. This is a great fan with a lifetime warranty against defects. Sure, it costs a bit more, but it is a good investment, and your purchase will support The Company.

The term "air cicrulator" is absolutely correct. I've owned a Vornado for 4 years now and have had it running for AT LEAST 2.5 of those years. It's as reliable & effective as the best ceiling fan and just as quiet.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best purchases I've ever made, June 16, 2004

This review is from: Vornado 610W Performer Air Circulator (Kitchen)
I bought a Vornado 610W Whole Room Air Circulator a few years ago at a local appliance store when I was in desperate need of a cooling device for my studio apartment in Brooklyn. My air conditioner was old, basically dead, and I did not have the money to replace it. This fan probably saved me a couple of thousand dollars (cost of air conditioner + estimated electric bill - cost of fan = savings).

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this product. I'm a Vornado evangelist basically and it's just a great feeling to be able to buy a quality product. I don't find the fan to be noisy, though I like a little white noise, and this thing is amazingly durable. I kept my old Vornado running 24-hours a day for almost two years and the performance never suffered. At night, I'd put the fan at the foot of my bed and sleep comfortably. During the day, I put it on top of a bookcase and cool the whole room.

I recently moved into a 3-room, railroad style apartment with high ceilings and ceiling fans. Inexplicably, I gave my Vornado to a friend because I had the ceiling fans and a new air conditioner. Well, it got hot one day last week and the cross-circulation in my new apartment is terrible. The AC cools two rooms, but not my bedroom (no windows). This is why I'm buying another Vornado today, on Amazon.com, to solve the problem - and I know it will.
