I live in a 40 year old 800-odd sq. ft. top floor apartment with 40 year old sliding glass doors, caulking, etc. Needless to say, the A/C can't handle it all when there is a 100+ degree heat index. Having this fan has reduced my electric bill--it even cools my bedroom enough so I can sleep at night. Don't be scared by its price, because it is worth every penny. I HIGHLY recommend it.

This fan is quiet and powerful. Usually I have it blow 20 feet to where I'm sitting. That's not a challenge for this strong fan. When it's on, I'm comfortable with the air conditioning set on a high temperature. The fan is also good at drying wet floors, and at evacuating cooking smoke. Having it blow just a couple of hours in a car with wet carpets dried them a lot. I also like the fan's elegant styling.

Throughout the years, I've lived in various residences that haven't had any air conditioning at all, and Vornado air circulators, starting with the 280SS (I have three of them), provided much needed relief from the hot weather. They've proven to be durable, easy to clean products that last an very long time (The motor is permanently lubricated, so that's not a surprise.) They're also extremely powerful, able to put out a steady, power stream of air that retains it's shape up to 75 ft. away from itself, allowing constant circulation across an entire room. With this latest model, the 750B, it's only gotten better. I got it to replace a slow, inefficient 3-speed fan in my kitchen that stopped working one morning, and I've been amazed at the difference it's made in there. It's gone from feeling like a sauna to a place that it a hell of a lot cooler than it used to be. I can actually feel a noticeable temperature difference. It's amazing how a product that's relatively small can be SO powerful!!

If you're looking for a reliable air circulator that will get the job done, is easy to use, clean, and will last a long time, then you should get this product. It will NOT disappoint at all!! It's well worth every penny you spend on it.

I don't know why other manufacturers just don't give up producing fans now that this extraordinary model is available. Like another reviewer, I've owned one for many years; actually, I'm on my second one. The first Vornado ran for several hours every day (no exaggeration) and gave no trouble for over 7 years. I've relegated that one to an area that doesn't need so much circulation and have purchased a new one for the heavy duty jobs. It's efficient and guiet and puts out a very focused and intense stream of air. The variable speed control is one of the best features about this wonderful product. They styling is unlike anything out there and takes up very little storage space. If you need a fan, you'd be crazy not to buy this one!

After much hesitation I finally bought a refurbished model for under $50 and it looks and works like new. I already consider it one of the best buys I have ever made, and it looks built to last.
The beauty of this solidly made fan is that is quiet yet very powerful. I point it at an angle to the ceiling or a wall and it creates a very effective quiet turbulence in the room that really does keep you comfortably cool.
I also have to agree with another reviewer who wrote that the quiet whir seems to help him focus and concentrate when working. It seems to have the same effect on me. Perhaps it just that I feel more comfortable, or pehaps the very steady whir sooths by canceling out other distracting noises.

This is a quality product (and you pay for it) that works really well. I bought one for myself a few years ago, and I use it in my home office while on concalls. The variable control is much better than pre-sets installed on other fans. It's quiet and efficient. Plus, if you set the fan across the room, you can tune the air currents to your liking.

The fan does not vibrate at all, and it does not seem to run hot. I bought one as a gift last XMAS for someone who hates air conditioning. I was worried if she let a fan run all day and night it might set a fire. The fan runs quiet and cool. I felt so confident, that I bought the smaller version for the top of my toddler's dresser to help mix the air a bit.

The peace of mind is worth the price.

I needed an air circulator that was quite and efficient. I had no preconceived idea of which brand or what model. Based on some feedback, I bought the Vorando air circulator. I proved to be an excellent purchase. It is very quite, I am able to keep the setting low, and it still provides a comfortable breeze that circulates the air in a 20x20 room without blowing everything around. I confidentially recommend this unit. You will not be disappointed. As for the price, I had spent more in the past with less quality and performance.

wOW...I reviewed another Vornado product before realizing that this one was the one we actually bought. Recently my mother moved into a senior citizens retirement community. A beautiful place but the one thing was that it did not have air conditioning in the individual apartments. it only had air in the general areas such as the dining rooms, lobby, beauty salon, library, etc...Well It's Michigan and mom didn't want an A/C put in for a couple of months. She's in a well shaded area so it doesn't get overly hot. We picked up this fan and never have been so impressed with a fan. This little wonder is extremely powerful and circulates the air better than any fan I've ever seen...or felt. Set it on the ground, point it diagonally up at the ceiling, and it literally bounces off the wall and sends air throughout the aparment. It has a dial on the base to easily set the speed of the fan or turn it off. Simply a marvelous product! Highly recommended.

I have owned this fan for 7 years and know that I have moved to Australia I can appreciate its ability even further. Australia has dramatic weather and this fan allowes us to live comfertably in any season. This fan circulates the heating in the winter and the air conditioning in the summer. When you are dealing with 110+ days and 100+ nights it truly is a life saver.

I just bought this fan and I think it is great, I use it with another fan as I live in a basement and there's no way I can put an ac, so I had to get a fan in the middle of this hot weather. It's not noisy, and the way it circulates the air makes it feel like a breeze, it's not heavy so I can move it all over kitchen, bedroom, living room.
I recommend this item to anyone who can afford it, it's worth it.
