Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Quiet, stylish, and built of durable plastic, this big device circulates air throughout the largest rooms at home or at the office. Use it alone or with an air conditioner to cool in the summer and to circulate heat evenly throughout a room in winter. Its powerful 233-watt motor combines with a deep-pitch propeller and a cunning grill design to move air in a tight beam up to 75 feet. For moving air up or down a stairwell or circulating air from floor to ceiling, the head pivots from an angle slightly below horizontal to straight up. It has an infinitely variable speed control, from low through high. The circulator stands 16 inches high and has a 15-1/2-inch-diameter head. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars Vornado, well worth the money, January 2, 2001

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vornado 750G Whole Room Air Circulator, Greystone (Kitchen)
I bought this modern Vornado because I was so pleased with the 50s vintage Vornado I have. I use the fan in conjuction with a kerosene heater to circulate air the warm air. I run the fan on low speed, it is very quiet and it performs. The fan is very well made and can be opened for cleaning. I know that the price may seem like a lot for a fan, however for the quality and warranty I would encourage anyone to buy this product. Made in America and worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep your cool, July 1, 2002
This review is from: Vornado 750G Whole Room Air Circulator, Greystone (Kitchen)
There are fans, then there are fans...and then there's the Vornado. My husband prevailed upon me to get one of these, and boy, was he on to something.

We didn't have air conditioning up in New England, so a fan was necessary for the few days when it did top 90 degrees. We had one of those old-style fans-on-a-stand we bought at the drugstore, and it didn't do a durned thing. It made a lot of noise, it waved about and it was completely useless. Half a foot away from that fan, you couldn't ruffle a feather. So during a heat wave, I caved and ordered one of these.

This fan moves HUGE volumes of air, yet it is unbelievably quiet. All I can say is that the mechanical engineers who designed this fan must have really understood their craft. The Vornado is literally a lifesaver if you don't have AC. We have air conditioning now that we are in a warmer part of the US, but we still use our Vornado when we'd rather have the windows open. This is, in my opinion, the best fan on the market.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Tool For Anyone With A Open-Concept Floorplan!, July 13, 2002

This review is from: Vornado 750G Whole Room Air Circulator, Greystone (Kitchen)
Living on the side of a mountain in rural New Hampshire usually means we don't have to resort to cooling the house during the summer, because we have a prevailing breeze on all but the hottest days. Yet we do sometimes have a problem during the evening, when the wind dies down and the air is still. It is then that we resort to using some device for recircultaing all that air and keeping the place comfortable.

That much and more can be said about this fan. It seems to effortlessly and efficently move air all over the house, such that nothing else is required. Within minurtes of employing it, the house is cooling down, and one can watch the dogs relax as the breeze helps them to cool down, too. Since I usually watch the evening news to compare it with the coverage I get from NPR on the long drive home, it helps that the fan is quiet and doesn't create the kind of airplane-level roar associated with most window fans.

We actually have two, for I now have one at a small cabin we are building, and it works well there, too, although not as often, since it is so far north. But for the relatively modest price of this item, you can effectively cool a very large area in a relatively short period of time. I highly recommend it. Enjoy!
