I'm pretty happy with this little fan so far. I've got one of those houses which was never intended to be inhabited without air conditioning - windows which don't open all the way, dead end hallways with no vent for hot air, and so forth. Surviving summer without AC in this architectural disaster requires a fleet of strategically placed fans. The only functional windows in my living room are a pair of small decorative lights on either side of a picture window. This fan, at approximately 10 x 10 x 6 inches deep, is one of the few fans on the market which will actually fit into the tiny opening of my living room windows. Despite its diminutive size, this little fan manages to air out my entire living room when I come home after work and turn it on. Unlike a lot of vortex style fans, this one seems to pull air from the back and not just the sides, so it brings in outside air when it's sitting on a window sill.

My landlord keeps the heat on until May--completely unnecessary in my part of the world. So I need something to keep my apartment tolerably comfortable until then. I chose this fan for the reasonable price and small footprint. I was afraid it would be too small to be effective in my large (20x15) living room, but figured I'd give it a shot. Boy, am I glad I did. 10 minutes on low speed was enough to make my living room almost a bit too chilly! I had to turn it off. So not only is it an efficient cooler, it's energy efficient, because you won't have to run it all the time. It's not silent, but it's quiet enough that my cat will sit next to it. I'll be buying another for my bedroom.

Fresh new design. Moves lots of air for a fan this size. Does not take up a lot of space. Quite on low and medium, Moderate on high. Well made.

Its silent on low. On medium and high there is a noise you would expect from a fan this size.

Whether the noise is objectionable or not is purely subjective so I wont comment about that.

It has a nice footpad setup on the back that allows it to lay down facing upward.

It does cost more than some others, but if you buy the cheapest fan you can buy you may well wind up with an unbalanced piece of garbage that catches on fire. I think its a fair price for a product that appears to be good quality.

I'm happy with my purchase.

This is one of the best fans I've ever owned and I really wish I would have bought one sooner.

We have had the same fan for two years and use it all year round. We use it in the summer to make our AC more efficient and in winter to keep our apartment evenly warmed.

USE: Most people are used to using a fan by having it blow directly at them but THIS IS NOT HOW TO USE THESE FANS! Vornado fans are able to push air much longer distances and thus are great at circulating air in a room. Many of the poor reviews for these fans are because people don't know (or don't bother to learn) how to use it.

NOISE: It's a fan that pushes a lot of air, it's going to be kind of loud. On it's lowest setting it's actually surprisingly quiet and makes less noise than the box fan I have. On the medium and high settings it is quite loud but also pushes a TON of air. This super high setting is great if you need to air out a room for, for example, drying paint, a wet/flooded basement or other situations.

REPAIR: Over the last year or two it's gathered up a ton of dust and because of how easy it is to use your site I was able to find the manual for my fan, read how to open it, remove the blades and clean out all the dust. Popped the who thing back together and it's like it's brand new! It's easy for companies to make products that users can't service themselves but Vornado doesn't do that.

If you don't have disillusions of what this fan it supposed to be, it will be the best fan you ever own.

This fan is quiet and it really works well to circulate air. It sits in a window to bring in cool air if you have it outside. Now if it's 100 degrees and humid it will not help too much in the window. But otherwise, I keep it on the floor to circulate my cool air when the AC is on. It really makes a difference. I was surprised. I have one room that doesn't have AC vents, so I put this by the door to bring in the AC from the other room. It keeps the room cool. It's small and quiet and does the job. I bought mine at bed bath and beyond for about the same price as Amazon and am considering ordering another one on Amazon so I can stop moving it up and down in my house.

Is a good air circulator, but i can not say or became a crazy fan of it like other in their review..4 stars because i was specting more "air"....

It's a pretty small fan but it works very good and keeps my small room fresh and cool enough in the summer.

Living in a house without A/C, this is a godsend fan. Very effective, and I tilt it a bit (put a book under the back legs)to get the best air flow at night. Wonderful fan. Sturdy & easy to clean. Two thumbs up!

Just received the Air Circulator today and even though temp was in the 30s I had to try it. As someone else said, "This fan moves some serious air." You cannot even hear the fan when it is set at its lowest speed. Bought the fan for the upcoming summer. My one concern, which is why I am giving it four rather than five stars, is the plug uses a 2.5 Amp., 125 Volt fuse. In the instruction booklet it says to contact Vornado customer service for replacement fuse. You can bet I am calling them first thing Monday morning. If and when I need to replace the plug's fuse I would want one on hand rather than try to track it down when the temp is in the 90s.
