The Vortex radio-controlled airplane is a virtually foolproof way to learn how to fly. It is easy for beginners to operate and costs a fraction of the price of a gas-powered airplane. Assembly is very simple and requires no glue or knives. The Vortex also includes an instructional video tape that guides you through the assembly process and prepares you for your first flights. Every step, from charging the batteries, to assembly, to pre-flight inspection is covered. Once in the air you will quickly notice just how simple flying the Vortex is. It only has two transmitter channels to make the controls easy The proportional throttle controls both speed and altitude, while the proportional rudder allows for swooping left and right turns. The Vortex flies at the perfect speed for parks and baseball fields. The wing's dihedral and a low center-of-gravity make the Vortex a very simple and stable flyer. Unfortunately most new pilots crash, however the Vortex is extremely durable and fairly resistant to crash damage. Thanks to its one piece design the wing has no weak points and the propeller is located behind the fuselage to prevent broken props. All parts on the Vortex are replaceable, and we have put together the Vortex accessory bundle - a collection of the parts that are most commonly damaged in a crash. bought this plane with additional wing/repair parts kit for Christmas. we waited until it was dead calm and headed out to a field. never flew. unable to take off from ground. seems very cheap. a huge Christmas disappointment. tried it with both sets of wings/horiz and vert stabilizers to see if it was a defective or damaged part - no joy. i am looking into buying a better plane from a local hobby store. i would not recommend this product.

bought this for my sons b-day. it was a good thing i bought the replacement parts also. it states its durable and easy to fix but this was not the case in my experience. we flew it only three times and each time something else broke. first flight the body stalk broke and was not easy to change to new one. they had apparently glued in the original one and we had to take the whole thing apart to fix the body. then second flight the main wings broke then third flight the tail pieces broke and the battery pack had melted. it was easyish to fly. good for beginners but was not durable like they claimed. was disappointed especially for the price that it didnt do a bit better. was excited to get it because the description was everything i had wanted from an rc plane. all was good except durability.
