Vortex Binocular Harness Strap

Here's the most comfortable way to carry your binoculars for hours...this binocular harness strap spreads the weight of your binoculars across your shoulders for more relaxed viewing. This ingenious strap keeps your binoculars and rangefinders, even cameras, from jostling around as you walk freeing up the use of your hands. Also helps keep your binoculars close to your chest and out of the way.

Customer Reviews

This is a nice harness strap.
Gerald Voytoski
These straps are the only way to carry binoculars - they keep they weight off your neck and that really makes a difference after a long day of birding or hunting.
C. Davis
Very comfortable and easy to use.

I really like the Vortex Harness for my binoculars. After a few hours of having the binoculars strap around my neck it begins to hurt and feel irritated. However with the Vortex Harness the weight if the binoculars is distributed more on the back and shoulders. In addition the Vortex Harness holds the binoculars close to my chest so the binoculars are not flopping all over.

You have to connect the straps to the binoculars using the little metal rings they provide. At least one other reviewer appears to have skipped this step and tried to force the thick plastic clips through the narrow slots on either side of the Vortex binoculars. They're comfortable and easy to slip on and off.

I need to tell you a story about the company that makes this product. I accidentally left this harness on the top of my car after a recent birding trip. I recovered it on the road later in the day but the plastic buckles and clips had been run over and could not be used.
I called the company and asked to purchase replacements. Instead, the customer rep took my name and address and sent me an entire new strap.
I wasn't charged anything and I did not have to provide a receipt or anything else. A brand new harness arrived two days later. This is the type of quality customer service that needs to be rewarded and publicized.

This strap is an excellent product. It is well constructed with heavy duty elastic straps, buckles and leather turnbuckle. It is adjustable and holds the camera or binoculars exactly where you want them to be. It beats the around the neck strap by a mile! Comfort and versatility are indeed at the top of the list of reasons to buy this item!

I have had the harness for a couple of weeks. It works. I wore them for a day of birding this week - less tension in my neck and back, the binoculars are in a position where they do not hang off the neck and bump into a field guide, walking stick and brush and in a spot where I can easily bring them to my face. Another benefit for me is that I can wear them when driving, they do not interfere with the steering wheel and I have the glass easily available. In other words, it allows the user a measure of relaxation. I don't know about others but part of my appreciation for birdwatching is that it brings me to the moment, I forget about work and just enjoy life and one less distraction is helpful. I also purchased a small set of web straps and rings so that I could afix the harness to my binoculars in a more sturdy way than the plastic strip ties. As another reviewer mentioned, they did not assemble easily, but with a bit of effort they do the job intended. Recommended.

I bought these because they seemed to be a good value compared to some others that are more expensive. IMO, fancy expensive bino straps aren't worth the expense. I found these to be lightweight and comfortable, even while wearing a pack.
