When I saw this bar I was very excited to try it. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. They added bacon and alderwood smoked salt. For me, one or the other would have been great, but together was just too much for my taste. The $8.99 price tag made it even harder to swallow.

This bar is best experienced with other people--just in case you or they do not like it. As a couple of reviewers indicated, they thought the taste was off. When I heard about it, I thought it sounded disgusting. However, when I tried it, it was delicious, delightful, and stunningly good.

If you're expecting standard chocolate flavors, I don't think this is the bar for you. However, if you like odd combinations, enjoy fatty or greasy or salty food (like fries & chips), and enjoy new experiences, this bar is worth it. Sure, the price is a bit high, but the quality is top notch.

If you buy the bar, or if you like it, I suggest you bring it to a group gathering where you can share it. You may well convert other people who enjoy it, and those who don't enjoy it won't spend their money on it.

This is probably one of the best bar's I've ever had, and I love to share it with others!

I purchased this bar as a novelty Valentine for my husband. He raved about it and insisted that I try it as well. I am not a big bacon person but I was curious so I tried it and fell in love. Very rich and creamy chocolate with a salty crunch from the bacon, it was divine and difficult to keep myself from eating more than a couple of pieces. I also found it at World Market for a bit less in cost.

I was excited to pop that first little chunk of Mo's Bacon Bar in and see what happened. Well, lots of things happened. The flavors were strong, yet subtle at the same time, which my confused my mind a little. The smoked salt is brilliant if you can snag a piece of a good granule of that in it. The bacon was really good, but it nearly blew it off the richness charts for my taste buds, anyway.

Bottom line: I think everyone should at least try one of these in their lifetime. It's a unique experience for sure or bring one to a friend's gathering (it WILL get attention and some talk). Otherwise, this is something you'd have maybe once or twice a year or for a special occasion. Trust me, if I ate one of these everyday - I'm not sure I'd make it past day three because they are RICH!

Product was a disapointment, so glad I purchased a bar at Whole Foods before ordering online. The chocolate itself is a milk chocolate (smooth and creamy after taste) however with the bacon bits... not so good. This chocolate did not cure either one of my chocolate not bacon cravings...

I was very excited to give this to my husband for Christmas. Well we both tried it and it really wasn't too good. Hardly no bacon flavor at all, and just didn't taste worth a hoot. Kind of a let down.

I purchased this for a friend for his birthday who loves bacon. Everyone in the office tried a piece and everyone in the office thought it was just "okay". No one really raved about it unfortunately. I think it was a neat gift idea, however I don't think I would purchase another one. I will give a compliment to the shipper though, this was ordered in the middle of the summer, and they made sure to include an ice pack so it wouldn't melt in the August heat!

I was really looking forward to trying this, and was unfortunately disappointed. All I tasted was the salt; if I didn't know it was a bacon bar I probably wouldn't have been able to guess it.
This is the kind of thing that I guess you either love or you hate, and it's pretty hard to predict which side you'll fall on. I love bacon, and all things bacon flavored, but this just didn't do it for me.
In all, I'm still glad I bought it, just for the novelty of trying bacon flavored chocolate, but I wouldn't buy one again.

If you like the sweet & salty flavor combination, this is the candy for you. Not an overwhelming bacon flavor -- only in some bites do you really get "bacon" more than "salty" -- but still a nice change from a regular Hershey bar.
