For those really willing to trust God, December 16, 2004
This review is from: Vow to Cherish (DVD)
I just watched this movie and was moved to great tears over it. It brought back the memories of my dad so loving caring for my mom through her cancer and death no matter what others thought. The main thing we all need to know is that God promises never to leave nor forsake. We have never been told we won't have to go through, but that He will always be there along side. He can't take over if we don't let Him. It's a wonderful movie for those in need of faith and for those who only profess to be christians and have faith but don't really know God, and great for those of us who truly love God and cherish reminders of His mercy and grace. It's a must see.

A beautiful, touching story of God's care and strength, February 25, 2005
First of all, to the "Kid"----I probably once believed as you, that my life is mine to control, no matter what the circumstances, no matter how difficult. But, oh, the peace and blessings I received when I learned to rest in God's care in times of trouble. We are not robots, remote-controlled by some supreme being, as the "Kid" would suggest that this film is attempting to present; on the contrary, God nurtures and guides us when we are weak, as any father would his beloved chilren---for after all, we ARE His children.
I truly loved this film! I would suggest it to any married couple and to any couple planning or considering marriage, because it presents a touching lesson in faith and the fact that marriage vows are a loving, binding contract and are to be cherished as such. I'm sad to say that I had probably become slack in my ideas of such things as marriage vows in today's society, as divorce is so common today and so many marriage vows are taken very lightly. But this film was a reminder that the instructions in the Scriptures in regards to marriage have really not been altered through the centuries, and remain a serious commandment to commitment. It's a beautiful film which touches on so many aspects of married and family life, with God as the essential tie that binds them together. Ken Howard is as handsome and wonderful as ever, and Ozzie Davis is fantastic as his neighbor and mentor through his troubling times.
I highly recommend it----and, yes, like other reviewers have suggested----keep your Kleenex handy!

WONDERFUL MOVIE!!!!!!, December 21, 2004
This review is from: Vow to Cherish (DVD)
I cannot say adequately how wonderful this movie was. It touched my heart in a great way. I agree with the person who said that the kid who wrote the bad review lost the whole point of the movie. It is about real human struggles and pain. It shows how we all are human and we all have a great need for God. It shows that we can't do life alone, and that God truly will never leave us or forsake us. We have to run to Him. We must place our burdens on Jesus' strong shoulders because we were never meant to carry them alone. He truly offers us a peace that passes all understanding when we give our worries and hardships to Him. It illustrates the devotion of a husband to his wife through "sickness and health, in good times and bad," as he leans on the Lord for his strength. I really think all familys should watch this together as it is clean, has an awesome message, and will hopefully help people to have an even deeper appreciation of the ones they love!!!!! Everyone really needs to watch this movie. I cried like a baby because it really touched me in a powerful way.
